Remarks :
I liked this College vey much, Just my IIT dream didn't completed but I have no regret of this. But I am sure that this College is far better than NITs except top 4.
Entrance Preview :
I took CET exams to get into the college. I chose COEP because it is the best engineering college in Pune.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The college is especially good for people who are interested in the field of research and development. most of our seniors don't took placements and decided to do further research in their respective fields.I could Remember a Senior whose project was selected For NASA and they decided to launch their satellite.
Internships Opportunities :
Many companies come offer internships to students. The stipend ranges from 10,000 to 60,000 per month. The internships duration is mostly around 2 months. I took internship in Microsoft.
Placement Experience :
The placements in COEP are outstanding. The salary in the comuter science and information technology are pretty good with the maximum salary going about 30L per annum. Companies like Seimens, microsoft, Samsung, JP Morgan and many more come to the college. The placement percentage is more than 90% for all the branches. I also got placed for 22Lacks for Microsoft.
College Events :
Being an autonomous institute, the evaluation pattern was continuous. We studied some interesting subjects here like Data Structure and Algorithms, database Management, Operating Systems, Micro Structure and controller, Networking. We were also allowed to pick one elective of other stream in each semester.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees are a bit at higher level considering coep is a government college. But as it is autonomus, fees are tend to be a bit higher. Fees increases every year by 3k-4k. But there are various refundable and non-refundable scholarships to help you pay this.I got scholarship from this.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Many scholarships are available refundable as well as non-refundable. Interviews are conducted for that to happen. Then there is the bookbank scheme in which we get books at cheap rates. I took benefit from this.
Campus Life :
Curriculum covers everything, which helps you to make you life great as a professional as well as personal. There are courses like psychology, biology and some electives on research as well. Companies also come here for the research purpose recruitment. No. Of boys in college is more as compared to no. Of girls.
Hostel Facilities :
Generally, everyone gets the hostel if your score is even on the average side. Hostel facility is very good and cheap compared to the other hostels. 4 people live in a room. PG can live considering 1.5k per month on an average. Plus hostel has very high spped wifi, lan system in every room. I Took flat nearby the college instead of Hostel.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, When I was in 1st year ,our seniors helped me a lot. Basically our seniors can tell us about the actual condition of college.
Exam Structure :
In each semester, there are two in-semester tests followed by the end semester tests. The labs are quite equipped and are very interesting for people who are actually interested in the field of engineering. There are no unwanted study leave for the exams. But it is not so easy to Score high in exams as copy checking is rough
Admission :
I entered in this College through CAP round counselling conducted by DTE maharashtra. For CSE branch I secured 187 Marks in MHT CET. First of All I checked final merit list rank ,by taking help of previous year cut offs I filled college of engineering pune as my first option and in CAP round 1 I got CSE branch.
Faculty :
The senior faculties have a superb amount of knowledge, the kind of knowledge that no one in other colleges in Mumbai posses. They have a lot of experience in their field having published a lot papers and patents. The junior faculties have good academic records themselves and are on their way to become more knowledgeable. Just they appreciate us.
