NLSIU Review

Remarks :

Common Law Admission Test. That's what you need to put yourself, to get in NLSIU. It's a national exam, conducted every year. Though the 2023 exam is going to be conducted on 18 Dec, 2022, classes will begin from 2023 obviously.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course for three reasons: read, write and speak. The first two I love and the last I wanted to improve. Law as a career gives you opportunity to learn these skills. The faculty student ratio is 1:60. Our batch of 180 is divided among three sections. It has trimester system, which means you'll have exam every three months.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total fees I had to pay for the first year was 3,07,000 (including admission fees). Apart from this, each year the fee is hiked by about 5000. There's a scholarship available, totally based on means. And the campus placements are good. If you are able to survive 5 years, you're sure to get a job.

Campus Life :

There's an annual music fest called Strawberry Fields. Then there's Spiritus, a sports fest. Apart from this there are a lot of small events happening here and there. Talking about amenities, all the classes are equipped wuth the minimum things required to conduct a class, including a projector and speakers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is awful and is probably the worst part, the curriculum hasn't changed in over 10 years, there is little to no basis of real world applications on the the curriculum, there should be a complete overhaul of the curriculum, there is an internals conducted by the college with a weightage of 10 and a final exam

Placement Experience:

The campus placement in the college is quite good. internship opportunities are communicated to the students via class groups from the first sem. Working opportunities are communicated via the Campus Placement cell. Lots of Law Firms send details of their placement opportunities such as IndusLaw, Sanctum Law etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. First of all they follow the course curricullum of NLUs which explains itself that how effective the syllabus and the learning will be, I choose BA LLB as I felt it was the best and interesting course and I can cope up with it. 2. The curricullum is great as it interconnects with every aspects of the legal world and also helps in further pursuing PG courses. 3. There are no suggestions from my side as they already have a great faculty, library and teaching methods (traditional classroom learning and also modern electronic materials). 4. They have regular class tests, vivas, presentations and semester wise exams etc. which are conducive for students to be a great lawyer.

There is college placement in BILS like 4-5 lakh per year but if any student is not able to get the the pacement there is still so many oppurtunities like litigation ,judiciary ,law firm ,etc and also there should be no back in the previous examination.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well drafted, with covering most of the important topics as is included in the curriculum of top universities. The exam schedule is, however, very hectic. In one semester, you have the end semester exams, mid semester exams and 2 CIAs (Continous Internal Assessments). The CIAs cover almost everything ranging from class tests and vivas to presentations and research paper writing. Apart from the main subjects, there are some extra mandatory subjects, which I feelnare of less importance. One of those is the Holistic Education which deals with very basic and natural concepts. There is also an exam for Holistic Education, without clearing which you won't be eligible to attempt the end semester exams.

Placement Experience:

The first batch of law from PESU just cleared and nearly half the students had placements worth 6-12 lakhs. Therefore the average is around 6 lakhs as only 50% students were placed. Many top corporates and law firms came for placements and in time to come, this will only increase.
