Remarks :

A mixture of mostly bad but few very good experiences. I had got a chance to perform in IPL OPENING CEREMONY 2013. I had to give audition for this. I even got chance to learn Spanish language in college. Apart from these courses many other innovative and renown vocational courses are provided by BESC.

Entrance Preview :

I went into this college through my class 12th marks. I had got 85% in commerce stream in CBSE. Usually for B. Com (Accounting & Finance) there are fixed cut-off required to get admissions. College has 3sections I, e Morning, Day & Evening. The candidates with higher % marks are alloted morning section.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is good. Faculty is good too but classes weren't used to held regularly b'coz of lack of student's presence in class. Most people in BESC take admission in B. Com course in order to bunk college since they pursue professional courses like CA, CA, CS etc.

Internships Opportunities :

During my time the college din't use to provide much facilities but now it has signed many MOU (s) with various good institutions like ICAI etc so now the scope for internship has increased. College even provide placement in private companies like TCS, INDIGO AIRLINES.

Placement Experience :

BESC provides placement in private companies like TCS, INDIGO AIRLINES. Package is the one that companies sets for freshers i, e 1.5 lack per annum, 1.4 lack per annum. These companies take aptitude test for shortlisting selected students. Package is same as they offer to freshers.

College Events :

BESC is meant for events. Through out kolkata BESC is famous for bringing celebrities for movie promotions, the fashion shows, the dance events, the designing shows and other short term vocational courses like tattoo designing, mehndi, foreign language courses, cooking courses etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The college has reservation system for gujarati people and college even charge less fee from gujarati in comparison to other students. I have to pay 25,000 as 1st year fee plus mission on fee, prospectus etc. Whereas my gujarati pals used to pay as less as 1500.inr and many even used to get scholarship because they were gujarati.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes, scholarships were awarded mostly to gujarati students and at times to other students too but they had to struggle a lot for getting this scholarship.

Campus Life :

Overall campus life is coolest in BESC. There is no restriction on dress or anything. Lots of extra curricular activities gets organized that can help a student to do overall development of oneself. Celebrities come for promoting their movies. Lots of vocational courses such as cooking, foreign language, tattoo designing, saree wrapping, mehndi, karate classes etc gets organized from time to time.

Hostel Facilities :

BESC ain't a residential college. But yes there is a small canteen just near entrance gate where delicious food gets served. Outstation students find it expensive because they need to look for their own accommodation and fooding. Basically outstation students opt for various other professional course apartment from UG/PG so as to gain as much as possible in cost that they're incurring in total.

Alumni/Alumna :

I had a very bad experience on this. The office workers don't receive Call and even if they receive then they'll tell you to visit college and have a talk to discuss any matter. I was an outstation student so I had to went through a lot of hardship, for getting even small info I had to travel all way to Kolkata. They even send you home if you're late for even 5mins for filling up exam forms. They don't listen when you explain reason for late arrival.

Exam Structure :

Exams are casual stuff in college. I have hardly seen anyone taking college internal exams seriously in BESC. But yes, college conducts every exam routine wise. There is no system of calling students for bad marks or distribution of results. But yes during final internal exam, college becomes little concerned and call for parents meeting etc to take a call on bad scores or grades because they will have to be answerable to Calcutta University.

Admission :

My initial experience in college wasn't good. As a new comer I had to face a lot of difficulties for getting a seat inspite of having 85%marks in std.12th. The college has reservation system for gujarati people and college even charge less fee from gujarati in comparison to other students. I have to pay 25,000 as 1st year fee plus mission on fee, prospectus etc. Moreover there was no online application process at that time so i had to visit college ample of times until finally I got the admission.

Faculty :

Faculty Is really good.During my time the college din't use to provide much facilities but now it has signed many MOU (s) with various good institutions like ICAI etc so now the scope for internship has increased. College even provide placement in private companies like TCS, INDIGO AIRLINES.

From the final year, companies start to come for jobs as well as an internship. Companies like Akash, IIT, DIGIT, and different new startups come to take the student as a decent package. Many students opt for a Ph.D. after this course.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for campus placements from the past semester that is from semester six. The number of companies visited is around 10 and the no of offered is near about 20 but there is a catch not all students are placed as it is completely based on merit and only a few can make it to the placement list. The highest-paid package would be 40,000 and the average would be 20,000. The percentage of students getting placements is a bit low. My plans will depend completely on the result of my last semester.

Admission:

I always wanted to go in the field of education so that I could share my knowledge with the children. In this college, the admission is based on merit only. The marks of the last qualifying exams are considered here. Basically, one has to fill up an online application form which is available on the college's website and after that the merit list is put up. This is followed by a councelling session in which all the documents including the application form is submitted. Later on, the fees are paid and the admission process is completed.

Placement Experience:

The placements and campus interviews aren't a part of the college but if one chooses to then he or she can go for an internship program by seeking permission from the principal. Apart from this, after the college, one can directly apply for a job and skip internship if they want to.

Placement Experience:

Students can't expect much from this university for placements. No internships are offered in this course.Although course offers rigorous training on practicals but students have to seek opportunity on their own.
