Remarks :
I did not attend Maharaja Surajmal and Maharaja Agrasen because of the location. It was a long-distance from my home. I did not avail any quota as I belong to the general category. My rank in IPU CET was 2000 and VIPS was allotted to me in the first round itself. 50% in 12th is the minimum criteria for admission along with a good rank in IPU CET. The admission process had a lot of paperwork and forms. Counseling was also complicated and confusing. The process can be simplified.
Course Curriculum Overview :
My leaning toward business made me opt for this course. After my 12th, I had BBA or B.com in my mind but with a better rank in BBA IPU CET, I chose this course. The faculty focuses way too much on written assignments. Instead of Quality education, we were taught how to score better in Internals and Externals. The student ratio was good. My class had a 6:4 ratio between boys and girls. The teaching methods can be improvised and should focus more on a practical approach. Term exams were scheduled in December and May. As long as you can fill the sheets, you can easily pass.
Internships Opportunities :
Very limited internships with only a few of them providing stipends. More internship opportunities could have been there. The roles were basic and had little learning. Focused mainly on marketing and selling. I got an internship with Stellar and my role was to sell policies.
Placement Experience :
Placement drives started in the 6th semester. The process was not smooth at all. Around 30 companies visited the campus and only a few students in my class had offers made to them. The faculty was biased toward students. The placement cell was also biased and had a complicated process. 25-30K/month was the highest offered as per the placement mails we received. Only 25-30% or fewer students were placed, 0/5 in the placement process and roles offered.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The minimum fee hike was there. I paid around 42000 per semester. It was a bit costly as compared to public colleges but moderate when compared to other private colleges. The facilities were good, Fully A/C and Clean campus. No scholarship or financial assistance was provided. I got no job on campus.
Campus Life :
Fests were the best part of Vips. SPANDAN was conducted every November and it was a very amazing experience. Other occasional fests were also organized from time to time. Books, journals, and newspapers were easily available in the library. Full A/C, clean campus, and cold water were always available. The sports ground was well maintained but there were fewer opportunities for anyone to join a sports team. Social life was very good. There were students of different cultures and backgrounds.
