Remarks :
The science department of IIT Jodhpur is well known in India for some great inventions and patents. M.Sc under the guidance of well experienced professors was like a dream come true. The admission criteria states that one has to sit for IIT JAM and the interview conducted there after. I applied for the exam online and after clearing the interview round i paid Rs.3300 as the admission fee. My admission was listed under the general category.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Chemistry has been my favourite subject since the 11th standard. The lab work inculcated in the course structure was very interesting. We also studied the latest inventions made/ papers written in this field of knowledge. The knowledge capacity of the professors was groundbreaking and exceptional. All of them were PhD holders in different fields of chemistry. The teaching methods adopted by them were very good.
Placement Experience :
100+ companies visited the campus for the placements despite the pandemic. Highest CTC went to Rs. 45 LPA of the B.Tech batch. CTC for the M.Sc students does not go that high. 30 pre placement offers were also made to the students. The top companies who participated in the placements were SMS Data Tech, Google, Goldman Sachs, 1MG, MAQ Software, Crisil, Honda, Zycus, DRDO, Bank of Baroda, Coal India Ltd.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Assistance for enrolling in a scholarship is provided in a very good way by the institute. Rs. 1.06 lakhs is the fee for two years of the course. There is only one scholarship available for the students: Merit cum Means Scholarship for which the criteria is different for different category of students. You need to fill out a separate application if you want to apply for a scholarship with the institute.
Campus Life :
My two years at the campus went good. I balanced my life between studies and events. We use to roam around the campus in the evening and visited the famous places of the city at the weekend. The infrastructure of the campus is great. Classes and labs are well equipped and huge. Virasaat – the SPICMACAY festival was my favourite of them all. Time around this festival was full of joy and happiness.
