Genuine review - [MLSU], Udaipur

Remarks :

All students were admitted as per the ranking of the merit list. All participates were situated on the basis of their ranking and admitted one by one. The cut-off for admission was nearly above 80%. Students were got admitted firstly according to reservation seats and then general category students were allowed for admission. There were two kinds of seats first, government-funded and self-funded seats(SFS). Firstly government-funded seats were given to reserve categories students then the turn of the general category came. General category students got self-funded seats only which was almost 3 times the government-funded seats.

Course Curriculum Overview :

We have a semester system in which internal exams are taking place after a maximum of 3 months of the beginning of the semester and at the ending of the 6th month of the college year semester exams takes place. Semester exams are slightly more difficult than internals. Nearly 90% of students pass the exams with an average of 70%.

Internships Opportunities :

I haven't participated in any internship programs or projects yet because I am in the previous year of M.sc (zoology) but as I have got to know about some projects by "Godrej" under our department. The quality test for Godrej mosquito killing machines is held in our department labs.

Placement Experience :

Campus placements are not so satisfying because most of the companies that come for recruiting students are not related to the course. But the NET qualifying percent of students are quite well. My plan is also to qualify NET for Ph.D. after this course.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for M.sc (zoology) course is up to 24000 annually as self-funded seats and government-funded seats have only 5000-6000 fees charge annually. There are some scholarships are also given to girls like the concession in fees. Any random company comes for campus placement, most of the time they are not related to our course.

Campus Life :

There are smart classrooms. Well-furnished classrooms. Labs are limited with less proper equipment. There is a separate library for the zoology department with foreign publisher books. The Central Library of the college is also quite well with infrastructure and books availability. The annual fest is organized every year. Inter and Intra college competitions are also conducted regularly.

Placement Experience:

In my course, students of final semester are eligible for placement. Mostly coaching institutes hire from msc physics with an average package of 10-12 lpa. Not a lot of students go for placements. But mostly they opt for higher studies and a good amount of students gets phd in foreign universities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always given a high place to curiosity. So it would not be a big deal that I took this course. One thing you learn in life or a course is to never stop questioning. If there is a need for some improvement then it is to get as many practicals done as possible. Also, keep in mind that not every student is the same.
