Remarks :

IIT Jammu is the new entrance in the IIT family but the college has made a name for itself and in a short period of time the college has become the hot spot for recruiters. I cleared my GATE and I filled the admission form through the college website and I have to pay an online fee of rs 300. I was called for GD and PI round after getting shortlisted on behalf of my academic score and GATE score. I was very happy to be part of the college as being part of IIT Jammu was one of the best decisions of my life.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum of the college is up to date. The curriculum follows the industry guidelines as per the latest norms and international standards. The curriculum gives us a proper insight and knowledge of business knowledge, machine learning, coding and data analysis, etc. The curriculum tells all the methods of converting raw data into structured useful data. The faculty of the college is also very experienced in such techniques. They are not only PhD standards but also help us to understand every information in detail and very deep. The faculty is the one that help us to clear our base in terms of engineering and business tactics about data science as they have very good experience in corporate world.

Internships Opportunities :

The college provides us with a very good internship opportunity. Our details are registered with the college placement committee with the help of the concerned faculty so that they can help us to select a good company as per our interest and domain. The average stipend for an internship is around 75k.

Placement Experience :

In just a short period of time, the college is able to match the standards of the IIT. The college has achieved a record of 100% placement from the first batch itself. The college education quality is so good that few of my batchmates receive the pre-placement offers during the time of the internship. The college highest package was around 41 LPA and the average package was approx 18 LPA. Around 80+ companies visited our campus during the college placement drive.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college complete course fee is around 1.70 lakh. The college provides good placement packages the average salary package is around 18 LPA which is really a very good return on investment. The college does not have any individual scholarship program at the moment but Government-funded scholarship schemes are available on merit and for SC/ST/PWD.

Campus Life :

The campus life of the college is very good. The labs of the college are very well maintained and the labs have all the modern research equipment and tools. Technectus and Renao are the technical and the cultural fests of the college. The college infrastructure is very good and the location of the college is very scenic which is very soothing to the eyes. All in all the college is a good place to be in.

Hostel Facilities :

The college has a very good hostel facility. The hostel properly takes care of the hygiene as the rooms and bathrooms are clean on daily basis. The hostel mess food is good and tasty the food is cooked in the hygienic environment. The wardens and the staff work very hard to maintain the hosel decorum. We are provided with 24 hours of water, power and WiFi connectivity. The hostel rooms are available on a double accommodation facility with beds, study tables and almirah for every one of us.

Placement Experience:

Students in the last year of their courses become eligible for campus placements. The companies that visit are conglomerate it , techmahindra, iquasar, bqe, almuqeet, jk cement and others. A large no. Of students are hired by these companies with a minimum package of 2 lac per anum. The percentage of students getting placed are 30%. I am looking for job opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course to gain information about computers very deeply and to fulfill my dream. The student-faculty ratio was 1:20 i.e. 1 teacher in a 20-student class, according to me, this is the better ratio in terms of faculty and student ratio. Masters + PhD (NET or NET/JRF or SET). Exams were taken on time and the passing of the exams was at a moderate level not too easy or not too difficult.

As the institute is in its initial phase that does not mean that you won't receive any placement. The college placement committee is fully supportive and if you are a hardworking person you will receive a good placement. The committee is able to invite good companies for placement. Placement Experience:

There were only a few opportunities for students to appear in various Campus recruitment drives due to the conditions prevalent in the state of J&K. However, the campus did witness some PSU's towards the end of my 7th semester. Companies like HPCL, IOCL and GAIL visited primarily for recruitment of Mechanical engineering students. Although some four students from Civil Engineering also got placed. The recruitment process included three stages: 1. Selection of 3 or 4 students for group discussion, based on CGPA scored. 2. GROUP DISCUSSION 3.INTERVIEW

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus and course guidelines for all NIT's and IIT's is almost kept the same. So the Course Curriculum and Syllabus were updated as per the latest trends. However a big lacunae that pervaded was the quality of some contractual faculty. Here-to-fore, it was not up to the mark, but the recent changes in terms of recruitment were overhauled. Currently, the teaching faculty is quite good and is equipped with teachers with a vast experience l.

Remarks:

Overall it is a good college with respect to the quality of faculties and the library. Students are provided with a good reading room with one separated from the other by a board. Still, I would say the college management need to work a bit harder and address the gender inequality issues which girls are facing here.
