One of the Best Colleges In DU

US

Remarks :

The Eligibility was passing Senior Secondary exam or 12th class. The application is a single form at the DU website from where the cut off list arrives and you get the college as per your percentage. Overall even though online the admission process was quite smooth.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Sociology is one of the youngest social sciences and is rapidly growing in importance. Even if one doesn't want pursue a career in this, it provides a great foundation for futher endeavours. The Faculty of sociology department is one of the best in the entire DU circuit with mostly everyone holding a doctorate. The exams are quite straightforward if one has their concepts clear

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees are quite affordable at around 11-12 k a year. In addition to the low fees the examination fees are also on the lower side and concessions are also provided to PWD candidates, individuals who lost their earning members to covid and various other scholarships

Campus Life :

The annual fest is called Nexus and it's hands down one of the best in the entire south campus. I've heard the library is also quite well equipped but the classrooms are certainly quite small. The newly constructed block has very good spaced classrooms but the older buildings are quite congested

In the 3rd year, students become eligible for sitting in college placement and internship fairs. Many companies visit the college and offer jobs to students. Mainly the companies come for commerce and economics students but some are open for all too. I'm not aware of the highest or lowest placement officer but the average package is around 4.6lpa. I plan on doing master's after the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I Choose this course because I want to become a teacher. English Honours are not so tough course to do because you have to just read 4 or 5 books each semester and it will be sufficient for your Examination. The faculty of SOL is not so good because this is not a regular college you have to attend just 20 lectures each semester. That's why contact between Faculty and students is not so good. All the teachers are well qualified and they all are UG NET Qualified their teaching methods are also good but they can be better. At the end of each semester, you have to take semester examinations every 4 to 5 months. The examination is easier as compared to regular colleges of the UNIVERSITY OF DELHI.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I didn't have a psychology background at the secondary level but a keen interest in mental health do lead me towards psychology efficiently. Apart from the curriculum when I started studying psychology's different spectrum, I could see myself as a more progressive and empathetic individual. And about the faculty, teachers are fine yet seem to be having a targeted approach towards students. The teaching method is quite revolved around the analysis and is more interactive. About exams, which are held twice a year according to the schedule released by Delhi University. Exams aren't that difficult to pass if paid prominent amount of attention to the class.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is b.a history honours and I choose it because I m interested in history. There side lots of faculty members I think around 100 but I have just per semester around 4 to 6 that's all another faculty it's just your library member and your administration staff who can help you just for bus pass form and laptop form and at the end, you just see him for your examination form that's all. They are well behaved and nature is good but sometimes you feel it so unconscious if you are a Hindi background school (only for new students because after that your nature is change and you just tell the farratedar English just like me) and all staff are around graduate level most of are so stylish when you get to enter the college you just see him can't define that whose that student whose that professor & Exam are there every six months l( a semester is six months) exams are most of the time easy if you read your syllabus. Other then you are finished in the exam hall b'coz chitting not alow

Anyone can sit for the placement from last semester. One just needs to have a strong CV, good communication skills, and a strong personality. Students rarely register themselves for placement after graduation. They are more focused on getting higher education. The top recruiting companies were paytm, bajaj, vipro, phonepay, justdial and mahindra and the best roles offered are in the field of finance and data handelling, research work and finance manager. The highest salary package usually offered is 12 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 4 to 4.5 LPA. Students from BCOM honors get most of the good salary offers.

Generally, undergraduate students of Economics don't opt for placements. The placement cell is active for the master's degree and is doing a decent job. Some students do go for off-campus placement. Jobs available are very limited immediately after UG.

Going by the seniors and the alumni the placement ratios of the previous years have been really good. So hoping that it will be the same ratio of around 70-75% in the coming years as well. As we are in the pandemic saying anything will be foolish but yeah let's see.
