Remarks :
Every student wants to complete their education at the top institute of India. IITs, NITs, and IIMs are well-known names in the field of education not only in India but these colleges are internationally recognized. IIT Madras is one of the most popular IITs in India and abroad. during my COAP counseling, I had many college options but I was confused between IIT Bombay and IIT Madras, and at last, I choose IIT Madras. IIT Madras Is the number one engineering institute in India since 2016. Without a second thought, IIT Madras was my choice because it provides the best return on investment means the best placement packages, the best education standards, well-experienced faculty, and many more. To be part of the IIT Madras candidate must clear the GATE exam and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the B.Tech program followed by COAP counseling followed by college GD and PI round.
Course Curriculum Overview :
IIT Madras is the number one college in terms of engineering so the curriculum of the college follows all the international norms and standards. We also have lots of international research work and project work opportunities. The curriculum is designed to impart students with theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge and to develop analytical skills and decision-making skills.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship is part of the curriculum but any student who is involved in any kind of research and project work can skip the internship by submitting the relevant document as per the requirement of the placement committee. You can also opt for the off-campus internship program. Around 50 companies visited the campus during the internship program even companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple were also part of the internship program. The stipend starts from Rs. 30000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/-.
Placement Experience :
IIT Madras provides the best return on investment. The average program fee was around Rs. 5,00,000/- and the average package during the placement drive was around 20 LPA. The college has a 100% placement record because the placement committee is very professional and hardworking they make sure that every participating student is placed. The highest package for our batch went up to 75 LPA and the average package was around 23 LPA. Companies like Qualcomm, Microsoft, Honeywell, Texas Instruments, Goldman Sachs, American Express, L&T, Deloitte, Amazon, Raukten Mobile, etc visited the campus during the college placement drive. I also got placed in Microsoft with a package of 25 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college provides scholarships for merit students. the college also offers scholarships to SC/ST/PWD students. You can also avail education loan and the admission department will guide you help you out during the loan process. Campus Life :
The campus life of the college is fun to stay. I have spent one of the most memorable times in IIT Madras. The nightlife during the weekends and the bike ride with friends during the vacations around the beach are some memories that are still with me. The college infrastructure is very good and very well maintained. The library is equipped with around 20 Lakh books and international journals. There are all types of academic and non-academic books in the library. The classrooms are big enough to accommodate around 100 students at a time. The college has different student clubs that a student can join according to its interest like for Arts Kalakriti, for Analytics - Enigma, for Debate - Rhetorica, for Economics - Arthonomics, for Finance - Fin-Addicts, for HR - FoHRum, and for Marketing - Mercado, etc are just to name some.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is well maintained neat and cleaned. The rooms are high enough to accommodate 2-3 students. The rooms are cleaned 4 times a week. The mess food is tasty and healthy. The hostel provides a 24 hours high-speed internet facility. The hostel celebrates the festivals like Diwali, Holi, and New Year Eve. We are also served special food during the festivals and student birthdays. The hostel warden and the staff are very friendly and cooperative. The college also provides a laundry facility. The hostel is equipped with all kinds of basic and modern facilities for students.
Faculty :
Most of the college faculty of the college are of Ph.D. with research work and industrial experience which is very helpful for students. The faculty motivates students a lot to take part in extracurricular activities and sports activities and the faculty believes that for healthy brain physical fitness is very important. The faculty also guides us in our research activities.
