Remarks :

An undergraduate degree is the entry point to the MBA program. Application for IIMs will be notified at the appropriate time. Ensure to have the latest certificates for reservation purposes. Follow the official CAT website regularly. The admission is gone by giving the CAT exam which comprises of three sections- VARC, LRDI, and QA. I had scored 94.93 percentile.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The PGP is the flagship course offered by IIM Kozhikode. This course covers the most crucial and essential concepts which will help one in his/her corporate career. The professors are top-notch. The faculty: student ratio is 1:15. The teaching method includes case discussions, class participation, quizzes, etc. Listening to the classes and following the readings discussed in the class will help during the exams. The exams are moderate level and test the basic understanding of the concepts taught in the class.

Internships Opportunities :

I can say about Amazon, they came for Operations, General Management, General Management, and Client Relationship. The stipend remained the same for all the roles. Many new companies visit IIM Kozhikode each year. The other companies provide roles in other domains as well. Students are never out of options. The projects are provided to make us industry-ready.

Placement Experience :

First-year students get the internship heat in the first trimester. For the final years, placement runs in the 5th and 6th trimesters. People convert jobs during internships as they are offered PPO by certain companies. Placements are 100%. The average package is around 23lpa and highest around 48lpa. There are big brands visiting the campus and loyal recruiters coming every year.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The total fee is INR 20,50,000 for the flagship PGP program for the academic year 2021-2023. The fees are affordable. There are few scholarships like Narotam Sekhsaria, NBFA, etc to assist financial aid by the college. Kindly go through the eligibility criteria and be prepared with the required documents to avail the scholarship. I got the opportunity to intern at Amazon.

Campus Life :

The institute encourages students to engage in case competitions and various events conducted throughout the year. There are a lot of clubs such as Atharva (Quizzing club), K-Matinee (The Movie club), Tripod (The Photography club), Footvibes (The Dance club), Toastmasters, etc. The institute provides good sports facilities. The books are delivered and online material is also provided. The cultural, business, and sports fest happen during certain months. These fests allow students to participate.

Hostel Facilities :

I was in a Triple sharing room (boys only). Some of my friends got Single rooms and Double sharing rooms. The rooms are well equipped. Some rooms have an A/C facility which one can avail of through monthly rent. Hostel room allocation is random in the first year. For the second year, room selection depends on the students' scores. The registration process is provided on the college website.

Interview Experience :

After clearing the CAT cut off there was just one personal interview round. The questions were very random. They don't want correct answers, they see how we manage and respond. Knowing or not knowing the answer doesn't really matter much because they try to test our thinking process. The questions also revolved around current affairs and a little bit of academics. I prepared some basics of B.tech and glimpsed through the current affairs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very old and must be improved to be on par with the ever expanding new technologies. I took this course, since I have a passion in programming. But there are various subjects which are minimal to no - relevant towards my department, which is IT. Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, Physics, Physics lab, Maths ( even though some parts of maths and physics is needed, it can be joined with the other programming subjects so that only things that are specifically necessary are being teached and both, being a seperate subject is unnecessary ), Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical, Civil, Mech Lab, Civil Lab, and all other non-credit subjects ( if there is no credit, why studying ? ). And can include more subjects revolving around various programming languages such as, C++, C#, Kotlin, React, etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are offered here but for now its really bad. College have a placement cell. Usually a lot of company used to come and take 100s of graduates. This year hits different. Placements were really bad this year. Avg package provided is also low. RS 5.5LPA was the highest and 4 LPA is the avg salary for placed students.

Placement Experience:

There are placements in St thomas, with a placement cell but I have to say it beyond terrible. Especially students from criminology and forensics have zero opportunities in their field. They barely help with higher education or career counseling. It was quite frustrating as they had a negative approach itself to our batch

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum had so many unnecessary subjects that had no connection with our courses like psychology, zoology etc. They could have avoided that. Jewellery Designing students also had to study advanced minerology . Which in my opinion was a bit unnecessary. Apart from that i learnt to improve my drawing and rendering skills. Learnt about new types and also the history of jewellery Designing. Tools and Machinery used.
