Remarks :
For a naturalist like me Doon University is a boon in ones career. I wanted to pursue my MBA from a government university as the fees are quite negotiable. I gave my CAT exam before applying but you can apply through MAT score as well. The application form can be filled both offline and online. The university is graded B++ by NAAC and is recognized by UGC.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Doon University maintains the course for various UG, PG and doctorate programs. In MBA you can choose between General and Executive MBA. The faculty is to student ratio is 1:6. The professors are very helpful and as we are a small group we grow under proper guidance. Practical knowledge is circulated among us and various seminars, one-on-one discussions are held regularly. The exams are easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities :
There is an 8 weeks Summer Internship program at Doon University for the MBA program though the time period may vary for different companies. Companies like TATA Motors, HDFC BANK, FLIPKART, BHEL, UNGC etc visit us for internships. You can get both paid and non-paid internships. The stipend offered is around 6000 rupees in average for paid internships.
Placement Experience :
After we complete our 2nd semester exams in about another two months the placements get started. The placement is average and companies like Wipro, Amazon, Infosys, HCL visit our campus for placements. The placement cell helps us in placements. The highest salary offered last year was 10 LPA while the average stood to be 4.5 LPA. Many students opt for off campus ing as well. Students get into domains like Marketing, IT etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
One of the biggest plus in studying at Doon University is the fee structure which is very low. In MBA we pay 81750 rupees annually which sums up to 164000 rupees approximately in 2 years. The Pandit Mahanand Dangwal Scholarship gives 3000 rupees to the meritorious students on a monthly basis. DUSAF is given to the financially weak and meritorious students.
Campus Life :
You would fall in love with the campus. The lush green campus with its touching weather provides all the necessities required for the students. The library is very good and you can get access to more than 5000 e ?ÛÒ journals through INFLIBNET. The annual fest Aadhar and the tech fest Mechaholics is organized in November every year. Sports and cultural events are organized on a regular basis.
Hostel Facilities :
The students other than the locals are required to stay at the hostels. The hostel is kind of satisfactory considering the amount of money we need to pay. A bed, table, chair, and cupboard are provided to us. The mess food is good but it can get better. Overall the hostel has proper hygiene and is good for living.
Admission :
When you are selected through your CAT you need to pass through the GD and PI round. The topic of GD is related to current affairs and we were given 20 minutes. The PI round was for about 15 minutes and general questions were asked about my academics, my experience etc. I gave some mock interviews which helped me a lot for these rounds.
