Remarks :
The college is awesome! I don't regret my decision of choosing it over the colleges of much bigger brand name like nsit and dtu. This college is relatively new and has a very bright future.All the people here including the faculty,student,the management committees etc are extremely hard working.
Entrance Preview :
I gave IIT-JEE MAINS exam.I scored 148 marks in it along with board percentage 95.8%My rank was 11665..I had to choose from nsit,dtu,iiit.All the three colleges were offering ece branch. But I opted it because of the quality of education in IIITD. The course curriculum is very cool and I have learnt many new things here.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is super cool and updated.If someone is interested in research,this college is the best choice for that person.This college encourages students to work hard,do research and learn new things on their own. It is very strict against plagiarism.It does not allow students to copy other student's work.
College Events :
We are notified with an email in which we are informed about the events which are going to happen in the current week.Since there are so many clubs for each and every field like byld-for web designing and web application development,foobar-competitve programming club,madtoes-dance club,audiobytes-music club,the 65th square-for chess,the kubic-for solving cubes,Gamecraft-for game development 3d game development,Mehchaam-the theatre club etc. these clubs organize events regularly and encourage studemts to come and participate.The events are organized by our seniors who are the members of that club. We have cultural committee which organizes many fun activities like karaoke night,dandiya night,halloween,gaming sessions of pong etc. Every year,the cultural committee organizes a five-day induction program for first year students(freshers) before the beginning of regular classes.Arrangements for hostel are made for all the freshers including the day scholars.The program includes many activities in which we interact with our seniors and fellowmates.There was treasure hunt,movie night,talent night,karaoke nght during our induction program.Students are introduced to the various clubs in the college as mentioned above and there is a demo session for each club.Students are introduced to the faculty and are made to interact with the alumni students.The program was very well organized by the seniors.We felt very homely during the five days of induction program.The most memorable experience! We also have an annual fest named esya in which freshers are highly encouraged to volunteer in.We are also encouraged to participate in events.I volunteered during the two day fest and really enjoyed a lot.There were so many tech and non-tech events to participate in.
Campus Life :
The gender ratio is good.As it is engineering branch,the number of women is less than men but the ratio is good . In my first year batch of 272 students,there are around 50 girls. The cultural committee organizes freshers party,karaoke night,movie night etc.We paid only for the freshers party.The other events are free of cost.I have attended 3-4 dj nights only in 3-4 months at IIIT Delhi.
Hostel Facilities :
IIITD has amazing hostel facilities and mess food is also good.I can appreciate it as I am a hosteller. The rooms ,couridors and washrooms are very hygienic and clean.The rooms are well ventilated and well-spaced.We have got sufficient cupboards to keep our stuff.There are single-sharing,double-sharing and triple-sharing rooms in girls hostel while there are single-sharing and double-sharing rooms in boys hostel. There are two lifts for each floor and the lifts work well.The maintenance of hostel is worth praising. IIIT has got the best hostels as compared to any college in Delhi. Students get the hostel more easily than other colleges if they qualify the minimum cut off which is around 30km. The mess food is hygienic and tasty. The fees is reasonable.There is milk along with breakfast and a sweet dish with dinner daily.I pay 1700/- for 20 days which includes breakfast,lunch,evening snacks and dinner.
Alumni/Alumna :
The seniors are extremely helpful and patient.We love our seniors .They are our elder brothers and sisters.They teach very effectively during tutorials and lab sessions.Each TA has announced his/her office hours during which they clear our doubts.
Exam Structure :
The exams and labs are weekly and leave us with a very hectic schedule.But after we do it,we learn a lot as the seniors and teachers are extremely helpful.We have a semester of 4 months consisting of many quizzes,home assignments,weekly lab evaluations , mid sem exam ,mid sem lab exam ,end sem,end sem lab exam.
Admission :
I got admission in IIITD through JAC counselling.The forms were released during December.We checked the notifications through jee main website. Once the examination was over,we had to register on the site of jacdelhi where seat allocation of four engineering colleges-nsit, dtu, iiitd, igdtuw had to take place. There were three rounds of seat allocation and a spot round in which we were allotted/upgraded seats according to the no of vacant seats and our choice filling order.
Faculty :
All the professors are well qualified and teach very enthusiastically.They have earned their PHD degree from the top universities of US.Apart from the professors we have many TAs who assist us in our studies by taking tutorials.They are mostly the students who are persuing MTECH or Phd from IIITD.
