Remarks :

About the college. For admission in m.sc based on the entrance exam. I do not apply to any college for this program except my college. No, I don't available any quota for admission to these college admission criteria (m.sc)should be pass 10+2 examination with science stream and mathematics and biology is compulsory subject if you are thinking to master in geology subject and obtained minimum 55% for general quota and obc quota and 45 % for sc quota. Direct admission is not allowed. On the day of counseling, students have to fill the form.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is now very nice after the implementation of the new education policy in the year 2020. After this implementation, some new papers were added like remote sensing, petrology, mineralogy, and many more. Now in the curriculum, they add a summer internship in the 3rd semester and a dissertation in the 4th semester.

Placement Experience :

The placement of my department is now getting better year by year, especially in the applied geology courses. There are many PSUs comes and recruit students from the department of geology. There are merely 10-20% of students are placed. After this degree, many students go for Ph.D.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are quite low fees in this program in masters of science by geology, one has to submit a total of 30000 in all over 4 semesters. For financially poor students UP government provides the scholarship which is about to equal as much as fees. There are also two part-time job schemes launched last year for meritorious and poor students names karmyogi scholarship.

Campus Life :

All books are available in the library. Tagore Library is one of the richest libraries in our country. College life is not as portrayed in movies. This university is very old and prestigious, I.e. mark sheet from here holds a great value.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are quite average. There are a total of 15 hostels on both the new and old campuses. There are 6 hostels for boys in the old campus which are 2 seats and 1 seater also, the quality of food in the hostel mess is also quite average. If we talk about hostel fees it is between 5000 to 7000 per year and the mess charge is about 3000 per month which is less than an outside room.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course has switched to New Education Policy which is fantastic and also the labs of ohr Department is well equipped with all the modern facilities and the staffs are also very good. Teachers often teach of PowerPoint Presentations which makes the classroom experience boring but some use the Board teaching so each teacher applies it's own method but you will get all the resources at the end of the day. Exams occur well in time and the whole academic calendar is released before the start of your semester so you will know what is the time of your exam

Placement Experience:

There are no placement programmes as such. They do put notices on board but it is either for UG students or for MBA students. There are no placements drives for Zoology students. They also don't encourage students for internships.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did M.sc with fish and fisheries as speciality in final year because nowadays because of growing population throughout the world humans are facing hunger and shortage of food and that have had encouraged the practice of aquaculture. It not only provides food but also contributes to India's economy to large extend. And also fishes are very useful in indicating any type of water pollution due to pesticidal runoff or any other pollutants and hence quite beneficial in determining the health of aquatic ecosystems.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this because I have an interest in plants as they are the backbone of our mother earth. There are 80% of the students are female and the rest 20% are male in my faculty. In my faculty, 2 professors are from Oxford University and the rest are from LU. Term exams are scheduled after every 5 or 6 months which all are average.

Placement Experience:

Actually from the 2nd semester, students can apply for placements. Almost 50-70% of students were placed in this course. The highest and lowest package of salary is offered and it depends on the performance of students. The highest salary is something 20, 000 per month on the other hand the lowest salary is 35, 000 per month. And average salary offer in course is 20, 000 per month approx. There are many companies like TCS, HTC, Wipro, Flipkart and Amazon are in our course. almost 50-70% can get internships from my college. My plan after MSC is to teach in a higher college at a high level. I am also applying for a good job.
