Remarks :
Good infrastructure, good environment, comparatively optimal fees, good teaching, excellent facilities, friendly teachers, best tech-fest programs festivals. No concern from management committee in students interests.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose engineering because it was one of fields where one can make money from abroad jobs. The number of faculty members are optimal. But, in the case of students it is rather bit much. The qualification of teachers are very good. Also, their teaching methods are very good especially in vocabulary skills. They do conduct exams then and now and is very likely to pass the exams if the student study well. But the evaluation scheme is no so good from the university level.
Internships Opportunities :
Indian Railway, Cochin Shipyard, TELK, etc
Placement Experience :
FISAT do provide job opportunities and good placements. But for mechanical and civil streams it is quite difficult to find a core job. They campus placement programme takes place in the last year of the course. More than 20 companies such as TCS, Infosys, CareStack, Speridian, Mitsogo etc have offered jobs. The highest package is from TCS with almost 5.5L per annum for a programmer. And an average package is from Mitsogo with almost 4L per annum for a software engineer. Here, more than 50% of students are offered from many companies. After the completion of the degree I prefer to do a job or study abroad.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is comparatively optimum. But, they do not give access to all the facilities that are provided in the fee structure. There are options for scholarship schemes from the institute itself or there are some government scholarship schemes that can help in financial assistance.Campus placements are very good apart from mechanical and civil streams. Even so, I was recently offered from Planetspark as Business Development Counselor through CoCubes with the assistance of the institute for writing the test in it. The stipend from the company is said to be 20000 Rs.
Campus Life :
Campus life is very extraordinary excluding the time they take for teaching. Here, you get to meet new people from different places. Personally, I prefer staying in hostel which is a whole other experience. In FISAT they have a digital library which is a very advanced one comparatively in other colleges and they do have the required booka and journals to a limit. FISAT also conduct cultural fests and tech-fests every year, also there is a big festival known as Bharatham which is extraordinary. Also the classroom have all the amenities needed including projectors. They do have Basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court and football field. Once a year a sport festival is also conducted. FISAT also have NSS club and other cultural activity clubs. Mechfisat.com is the official website made by mechanical students for the department. Clubs like ASME, SAME, IEEE, ASCE are all active here which can help in participating for competitions for improving the performance of students.
Hostel Facilities :
Federal Institute of Science And Technology (FISAT)
Exam Structure :
KEAM exam - 2017 - 315/600
Admission :
There were no special tests for admission. The only thing they consider is the KEAM score and maybe 12th score. The student also may have a little chat with the faculty but its nothing to be concerned about.
