Remarks :

I want to be a civil engineer but I was getting nit Sikkim in Josee counseling so I opted for it based on my jee main rank. for admission in nit Sikkim you must have clear jee main and 75% aggregates board percentage.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Every college have their own curriculum ,here in nit Sikkim a curriculum mainly focused on student improvement, There is total 30 seats for civil engineering department 6 sets for girls and 24 for boys ,teachers are good in our environment they are really helpful but less experienced but thier effort make no sense of experience .many faculty did thier MTech from nit,iit college and some teachers doing phd from best colleges of India

Class Size : 30Course Fees : INR 132800 per year

Internships Opportunities :

our college provides 95% student internship because our tnp cell is very much progressive n they r doing hard for the student of our college. Internship is not big issue in nit Sikkim. from our institue even student get internship in cannada and also like iisc n IIT internship are available here.

Placement Experience :

Placements are good here in nit sikkim if you r from cse ece branch then aprrox 90 % student get placed but there is problem for core branch specially civil and mechanical almost 2-3 student can get job in core company and 10-12 student placed in coding subject company .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is different of different nits in nit Sikkim fee structure divided into three categories,one for whose family income above 5 lakh in one financial year then they have to pay a full academic fee ,2nd for student whose family income between 1 - 5lakh they have to pay 2/3 rd of the full academic fee. and 3rd is for whose family income lss than 1 lakh then thier full fee wavier .and mess n hostel fee is common for all.

Campus Life :

There are two fests in my college one is a technical fest called abhiyantran and the other is a cultural fest called udgam. technical fest organized by 3rd-year student and cultural fest organized by a 2nd-year student of our college. there is the library which is good but no so big but it provides all types of books. the infrastructure of our college is not so good because it is running in a temporary college

Hostel Facilities :

hostel facilities are good here it provides 2-3 student per room withproper water ,table chair n bed also but mess food quality is not good here .there is always student complained about mess food not because of proper food item because of its taste the food liked a boiled item

My admission and life at SMIT

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active and well equipped to bring recruiters from diverse group of organisations. The pre final and final year students are allowed to sit for interview. The highlight this year for me was Mercedes Benz hiring a student from Mechanical Department giving a very high package. A good chunk of people get placed every year. I am also looking forward to placement opportunities on campus, I believe there'll be enough opportunities.

I have chosen this course because this course can help me learn both the coding and electronics part. Faculties are well qualified but sometimes they are not able to explain the things and sometimes they also avoid our doubt if we chok in the middle. We appear for three term exam in every 2 months. Placement Experience:

After 5th semester, the college has on-campus internship options and after during 7th semester, you will be eligible to sit for campus placements. Many companies come for campus placement including IBM, NVIDIA, Deloitte, etc. PLacements for CSE, ECE, and EEE are very good. In 2023 highest placement was from EEE of 44 lakhs from NVIDIA. In Mechanical most of the students get PPO. For Civil, very least options are available. Usually, 80% of students get placed every year.

All the courses are very good here. All faculties have done phd in their respective domains. There are at least 4 lab technicians in one lab. There are all types of labs available. Teachers are very friendly. We get funds for our projects from our college.

My college overall experience!

Placement Experience:

Several companies come for campus placement. Third years are elligible for summer internships and fourth years can get placement + Internship offer for the last semester internship. The college provides us with pre-placement training which is very helpful which I'm currently undergoing. The placement record of the college has been satisfactory till now. We also get sessions from alumnus who tell us their experience and guide us through their experience. The placement drives can be improved hope for more companies and more opportunities to be given to every students.
