Honest Review

Remarks :

I am Harshita Gupta. I have passed out from Dbit in 2021. I'm providing my sincere reviews which will be beneficial for other people to know more about Don Bosco Institute of Technology. College is good at providing high-quality education. Hostel facilities are very good. Faculties are cooperative and highly knowledgeable, ensuring that all the students gain knowledge not only just theoretically but also practically. Here, they focus on extracurricular activities also. From time to time various workshops are organized so that students and make use of them and develop their interest in the domain. The infrastructure of the college is open and fine. The surrounding atmosphere is peaceful without any ragging or bullying etc. A full clean and green campus it is, providing a correct atmosphere to study and gain knowledge. Ample of parking space is available. Placement is also satisfactory. Many companies both top service-based companies and many startup companies come for the recruitment.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Faculties are highly knowledgeable and with 100% interest, they put lots of effort to make students understand the concept. Each class has about 55 to 60 students. Monthly internal exams are taken thrice a semester and at the end of each semester, an external exam is there. External exam papers and checking are done by VTU University. If we study the prescribed textbook thoroughly they we can score very decent marks in the final exam. Everything marking, paper setting etc is done fairly since it comes under VTU. Under VTU more than 200 colleges come under so you can imagine how reputed VTU university is and so is the final degree provided also have a lot of value outside the college. Therefore I suggest you join the Don Bosco Institute of Technology.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship was good. I did two internships in two different domains. No restriction on the number of internships. Anyone can do any number of internships from any Institute. VTU ask for an internship in 3rd year to do. Before that all internships are extras and if done will be beneficial to add weightage to your resume.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees our time was 1.5 lacs per year for engineering students and hostel fees was 1 lac per year. But now they have increased from 2021 batch fees is approx 2.5 - 3 lac. I'm not sure about the exact fees. The placement average offer is 2 to 10 LPA. Maximum students get around 3- 5 LPA. But 90%+ students got placed in our batch that too in corona situation.

Campus Life :

Annually fest is there called as "VISMAY" And other festivals are also celebrated from time to time. Almost every week some of the other workshops are conducted. In the library plenty of books are present. Apart from academics, other books are also present in a quite decent number. Also, the department library is there where all department students can access the books. The classroom has fans and is fully ventilated and the lighted rooms are. Sports competitions and extracurricular activities frequently take place. Don Cisco official website is there. The Alumni group is also there. And various other telegram groups etc are also there.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel accommodation is good as compared to any other hostel in Bangalore. Rooms are spacious with fans. Three people share one room and that is spacious enough. We have attached the bathroom and toilet. Also, there is a changing room for girls where cupboards are present. 24 hr got water was bathing is provided in taps along with normal water. Drinking RO water is there. Food in the mess is good. High quality ingredients are used to make it fresh and hygienic. Also, it is nutritional. Varieties of food items are given.

Placement Experience:

According to what I've seen, ME members received offers ranging from 12 to 24 lakhs per annum. We always tried to seek experience in this University and that helped us to increase our CTC and it went high up to 22 LPA. I had seen a placement rate of very close around 80% which was amazing and companies were ITC, Nestle, Axa rtc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have the best faculty with extreme expertise but a few are irregular and careless about the students. The ones who take class do it really well. The class strength had quite an impact over the classes but still was good.

Admission:

The entire application process for admissions is paperless and online in keeping with the University’s commitment to sustainability. The Application form has be filled in entirety and be submitted along with the Statement of Purpose (SoP) and the documents mentioned therein.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

One feels the fee structure is a bit high. But it's quite reasonable as compared to the other B-school. The only good thing is that Manasagagotri has good placement assistance Manasagagotri has good. My overall expenditure was around 1.5 lakhs for two years.

Entrance Preview:

I qualified CSIR-NET, GATE and IISC entrance exam to get through this college. There are two rounds of interview once you've cracked one of the above mentioned exams and you're through in the interview list.

Admission:

Cleared IISc's entrance test and got the interview call. There are two rounds of interview. In the first panel they ask for the basics related to atmospheric, geophysical and oceanic sciences. And in the final round of interview they mostly ask questions related to your master's thesis and the kind of work you're going to opt for your Ph.D.
