Remarks :
Since, my batch was 2nd passing out batch of DIT so there was a lag in placements. Now, I think that management takes care of MBA batch as well as they do for other branches as far as placements are concerned.
Entrance Preview :
I scored around 580 in MAT. The reason I chose this college was that it is a renowned college in Uttarakhand and wanted to study near to my hometown.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Curriculum was quite good. In first year, we had to study all subjects like finance, research, marketing & HR. In second year, I opted for HR major where I got to study the organizational behavior, human psychology, counselling, social welfare and labour laws.
Internships Opportunities :
No, we had to search for internships on our own. No company came for internship in my session, though B.Tech or MCA maximum students got placed on an average package of 4 lpa.
Placement Experience :
Around 40% students only got placed and the highest package was 4.8 lpa.Since management used to concentrate on their technical courses only, MBA batches didn't get that much attention in terms of placements are concerned. Only 4 companies came to campus but only for finance & marketing students. None came for HR.
College Events :
DIT students usually participate in Lamhe that is the annual fest celebrated in IMS Unison university. Since, it is a sister concern of DIT only, they always welcome its students with full arms open. Other then that, we used to have cricket tournament where students from every batch, b.tech, bca, mca, mba participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure was quite ok. Feasible for a middle class family. Students having domicile of uttrakhand used to pay less fees as compared to students from rest of the India. I belong to Uttarakhand only so I paid around 48k four times, for every semester in 2009.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Since, I paid my fees in either cash or cheque, I don't have any idea about education loan college was providing.
Campus Life :
Gender Ratio was fine, u can say that it was 3:1. There were number of extracurricular activities used to happen now & then like science quiz, debate competition, essay, arts etc. There were some students studying in technical batches from nearby countries.
Hostel Facilities :
I am from Dehradun itself so didn't opted for Hostel, though visited sometimes along with my batchmates. Rooms were spacious and clean. 2 or 3 students used to share one room. Security was very tight and students had to take approvals from their concerned guardians if they want to go out of hostel campus. Mess food was ok.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumni network is good. We have a fb page where all the alumnus of DIT share their experiences. That page is maintained by our professor only.We also have alumni meet every year.
Exam Structure :
There was a balance between classes & labs. We used to get enough time to study or research. There was a separate library other than a main one for MBA students where we used to get all course related books, newsletters, journals etc. I don't remember if we had 10 or 12 odd days in the entire session where we got exhausted at the end of the day.We used to have around 3 internal exams and two external ones.
Faculty :
MBA faculties are knowledgeable since they come from corporate and have real life experience. They know what & how industry standards work as per theoretical knowledge is concerned. So, they teach accordingly. Most of the faculties are Ph.D. and masters in their area.
