Entrance Preview :

Currently anyone can give Engineering entrance exam and according to the rounds admission is given. Previously it was based on 12th marks and PCM. My PCM was 76%. This is the best Engineering college in India.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was having sandwich pattern. That means i have to spend my 5th and 8th semester in the company. that is really a very good practice because along with theory i am getting practical exposure also. About electives, electives are offered as per the industry needs and the requirements at that time.

Internships Opportunities :

For post graduate students who have cleared GATE exam, they were offered a stipend form government. Now it is about 12000 rs per month.

Placement Experience :

Almost 90% students generally getting placements in various companies. Many of them are having 2 job opportunities in their hands. Generally average package varies form 3 to 5 LPA. Some companies with higher package like Google, Yahoo etc. They are also conducting campus drives.

College Events :

Have u heard about the "Mindspark". It is one of the greatest technical event conducted by the college. Previously different departments were conducting different departmental events, but now all events are conducted under one roof. "Regatta" Another interesting event of boat formation generally in the month of feb/ March.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

As the college is Autonomous Institute of Govt. Of Maharashtra, Fee structure is feasible for poor students also. For UG courses, fees per year is about 25000 rs and for SC/ST categories it is upto 5000 rs. Freeship and scholarship for category students as well as for economically backward students, scholarship is also there.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Anyone can take education loan based on the expenditure certificate and as well as the scholarship for bright students is also offered. Freeship and scholarship for category students as well as for economically backward students, scholarship is also there.

Campus Life :

The college is not about the teaching and the academics. It is for overall improvement of the students. COEP gives the chance to everyone to attain the success in the field of interest. This year students from COEP launched the satellite "Swayam" along with ISRO. For every student there is hobby club, music club, hamming center, robotics club, Gymkhana.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network is so strong that there are no words to say. First engineer Dr. Vishweshwarayya is passed out from COEP. Kirloskar, Bajaj and many more big giants from corporate are alumni of COEP.

Exam Structure :

Now days their is monthly test and at the end of semester their is end semester examination. If by chance, any student fails in any subject, re exam for such students is taken in 15 days, so that he can not lose a complete year. As the exam paper is set by the concerned subject staff, we have to attain the lectures and practicals to attain good grades.

Admission :

Generally admission process starts after declaration of 12th result. Firstly i have applied for Engineering course by filling application form which were available at some government colleges at that time. Then based on the 12th marks and PCM marks (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) merit list is displayed. And then according to merit numbers i have attended rounds and then i have got admission in COEP.

Faculty :

Faculty is outstanding and are well qualified to teach the course in syllabus as well as beyond the syllabus. Most of them are doctorate. and they are giving enough attention to share their knowledge as well as to do the research work. Specialisation of the faculty is also course wise, therefore the faculty who is specialised in particular topic teaches that subject.

Students become eligible for placements in their last year. There are many good companies that come and take part in the placement drives. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini etc. come here for placements. The highest package in my understanding was about 30 lakhs as studied and searched by me. Many students secure packages above 3.5 lakhs in our college. About 90% of students get placed through the drives. My plan is also to take a good job from placement and then do my masters.

Admission:

I got admission through CAP Round as directed by AICTE and DTE, the process is of 3 rounds until you choose a college and finalize it. Admission dates for FE students start from around May-June period as college opens at around 15 July approx. And Students need to bring all documents attested and submit the original 10th- 12th documents in the college and after completing the graduation. He/She can collect the originals from the college after collecting LC from the college.
