Nithya Sri V's Review On Gnanam School Of Business - [GSB], Thanjavur

NV

Remarks :

I got offers from many MBA institutions but my only choice was GNANAM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS. The main reason to choose Gnanam School of Business is mainly the way they handle students and the Industry Exposure we get while learning. This will really make us more comfortable in the near future. The Admission process was really good and the way faculties handle the Students is Extremely good. Based on our Domain they interview us, and it will actually be like a Normal conversation. Since its a Residential one, we had a campus tour and it helped to know my surroundings and created a PEACE and GREENERY environment.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The main thing to Choose MBA is to know more about the industry and explore my talents and update myself more. While I was thinking about where to do Gnanam School was my first and best choice. The ratio of Faculty and students here is upto the mark. Here we have a MENTOR: MENTEE relationship and this helps students to mingle friendly with faculty. The Faculties are well qualified from IIT and IIM's with Highest qualification and each faculty differs in the way they teach and each way is easily understandable by all students out there. The term exam were all conducted in proper time as and when they complete certain portions so that we can be strong in all topics.

Internships Opportunities :

Interns will be based on our specialization in top companies in which we will learn a lot of industry experience within a short span of time. Students will be asked to do projects based on the specialization which will help them to complete the project with the best Guide in the final semester.

Placement Experience :

By the beginning of 3rd semester, we will have companies for Placements. Companies like Ford, 3i Infotech, Reliance, Synergy, and so on. the highest pay is 7.5 lakhs per annum. All the students are placed in a reputed organization based on their specialization they opt. After my degree, I would like to see myself as a HR person in my dream company.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees structure is comparatively Good when compare to all B Schools. The total fee is 450000 for 2 years. It is really worth as the faculties and others put in the entire effort so as to make students gain more. So the fee is worth giving.

Campus Life :

The Campus life at GSB is really amazing as we have all facilities like BOOKS based on our Specialization with a well-structured Library, More business journals and a fully furnished classroom with a Smart Whiteboard and well Furnished. Non Academic Clubs like Corporate Social Responsibility, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, A Shop is run by students which is inside the college premises known as Quick Stop. And Academic clubs on Various Departments like Marketing, Human resource, Operations, Systems and Finance. These clubs make students know more about the organisation abilities and they can build skills of their own.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel has all facilities including indoor games for Relaxation, Equipment to keep us physically strong, a television to relax and a room with all facilities required for a student to study peacefully. As the members are only 2 per room it is easy to do our works peacefully and complete it on time. The menu is fixed according to the need of students and they revise the menu if we feel discomfort with the menu. Seasonal fruits and Vegetables are offered regularly to students. At the same time, the quality of food and the taste is also good. As we have separate food for Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Students can opt their needs and have food.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are handled by the Placement team of our college. More than 100 companies visit the campus for placements. Due to the rules of the placement team, the companies that visit the campus cannot be disclosed. The average stipend for summer internships is usually around 70-80k per month and the average package for the final placements is around 17 lakhs. The placements in the college are decent enough.

Placement Experience:

The placement committee organises all placement activities. A lot of opportunities are available. About 120 companies visited for final placements with a similar number of offers being made. The highest package is 25 lakhs. 100% placement has been recorded. Being a premier institute, lots of opportunities after education.

Placement Experience:

For the summer internships, certain big names come after the second month of starting college whereas the majority typically come around the second term which is from October to December. On account of Covid-19, the level of placement has come down drastically with most of the companies being startups. As far as final placements are concerned, there is a lot of scope for finance and moderate expectations for marketing and little to slim for operation roles. The placement percentage always becomes 95 or 100% either by forcefully putting students in irrelevant job roles or making them withdraw from the process.

Remarks:

The only problem in this college is the infrastructure. Most of the buildings are very old and especially our department building is quite old and prone to leakage during rain. Other than that the college is quite good and well equipped with a big library and wifi facilities are also provided.

Remarks:

Overall the College is a good college. But there are too many levels of hierarchy. We never really know who is the main head of the institution because there are so many people like Principal, Chairman, Director, Coordinator etc. The university the college is affiliated under is not good. Anna University is keen on looting student's money.
