Remarks

I applied St. Alberts college, Kairavattam campus, Kerala university but I choose Fatima Mata National college. i got admission to the community quota. The admission was based on the mark obtained in the degree course and there was no age limit for admission. The admission was split into 4 categories like general (6), community Quota( 4), EWS(1), Management(4).

Course Curriculum Overview

I was interested in Physics, and I want to pursue Ph.D. in physics. That's why I choose MSc Physics. All most of all faculties are Ph.D. holders and qualified NET lecturership. Most of the teachers take classes using multimedia presentations, Seminar session was allotted for us to improve our teaching abilities. The semester exam was conducted every six months and the result was published within one month after the exams. In my batch students were passed all semester exams.

Class Size: 15Course Fees: INR 1000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

the fees were negotiable for us, and It was collected according to university norms, and they allow a certain time for us to pay our fees. there are so many scholarships for students depending upon academic marks and the annual income of the student family.

Campus Life

the college day was celebrated in the month of March-April. The library facilities are good and there is a separation of library books for both UG and PG students and in addition to that journals are also available in the college library. For MSc students, there is a lecture hall, computer lab, departmental library which contains science journals and various science books are available. In the Physics department, sports day was conducted before the college sports day and we celebrate space week and science day celebration. Every year we conduct the association day for the department.

the course curriculum is overall average. the vcurriculum is not up-to-date, and the changes in technology or the new innovations and updations in technology are not introduced in the curriculum. also the inconsistency in conducting exams is also a problem; the university is to blame for that; there is no fixed time period or a timetable for the examinations conducted by the university. and also the dirty politics going on in the university is also to blame for this.

MY COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

The main reason why i selected this college is because it is near my house so i dont want to travel more . Other reason is that it is an autonomous college. So the results will come in correct time than the university colleges. Also the management is so strict abut the studys and they provide high quality education for students who studys there. I got admission in mar ivanios college trivandrum ,its also an autonomous college but becaus it was on anathor district i didnt went there. Honestly i was not prepared for the long distance life at that time or else i will go there for sure,because its one of the major an popular college in kerala, many celebraties are alumini there. I first got admission in NSS kollege kottiyam on the basis of my mark, but it was a small college so i didnt go there Then i got admission in Fatima mata national college .
