Remarks :

Food technology in 2015 was quiet a rare course, there were few colleges providing this course, Shaheed rajguru college of DU provide this course but I heard that the dept. Is not good, plus Amity University food tech dept. Is considered good among other provate colleges, they have a full fledged lab accredited by ministry of food processing, which include pilot plants, they have different types of labs for different courses, and during interview process, they take your parents on a tour where they show dept. Labs etc, my father found food tech dept good, plus Amity has its own reputation in private college the exposure you get is very rare, and most importantly their course curriculum is very unique, foreign language is permanent for each and every Amity students, which is rare even now.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose food tech because food industry is an emerging field, especially in india, with govt focusing on this sector and fssai it's a growing sector plus you can learn and start something of your own. Faculty-in food tech dept is very supportive, they provide you notes, in terms of attendance they are strict but they do support students in time of need, you can call them ask for help they are always ready, even now after leaving the college, they help us and guide us they are knowledgeable and willing to teach you extra. They are qualified our HOD is ex CFTRI professor, very knowledgeable and an expert in meat processing.Student ratio- in my batch majority were girls, but in my seniors batch the ratio was 50-50, environment is gender friendly.Teaching methods- like any other college or university. But it depends on subject to subject and on faculty to faculty. But few things are there which are very helpful, like you can get your notes online on Amizone which is an Amity University portal for their students, faculty do focus on presentation and papers. With Covid situation things have changed. You can get your

Internships Opportunities :

3 internships are mandatory in food tech. In Amity, first one for 21 days then for a month and then during last semester your whole semester is your internship period. Faculties do help in getting you internships.

Placement Experience :

You will find jobs on campus, Campus jobs are great, for other courses, but In food sector there is a limitation, there is no masss recruitment in any companies so companies don't prefer to come to campus, they contact dept head or faculties and they then contact students, and then the procedure start. Doing internship in good companies is a great help, many get jobs in the company they interned during their last internship which last for 3 months. Experience matter a lot in food sector, so one should focus on that. One should focus on learning as much as they can during intership.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees is obviously a bit high as compare to other universities with same course. Every semester their is a hike od 4k. You can get scholarships, in many ways which are available on Amity University website, the one I am aware of is when you top 1 year your fees for best semester is free. During covid has come up with very nobel cause, if any of their student has lost their earing parent Amity will pay for their fees, which is grat during these times. As far as campus jobs are coming concerned, one should know that there is no mass recruitment in food sector companies will come but they will hire not more than 10 students. Big companies do come, like Pernord Ricard always hire from Amity. But in food sector focus on internship and then only it will be easy for you to get the job.

Campus Life :

Campus Life is great, you will get everything thing. From dance to sports, from acting to debating you will get whatever you want. And that is why Amity stands out. AYF that it Amity youth fest is one of a kind. Its a 3 day long fest, from dance competition to DJ's from various activities to stars on the last day, food stalls everywhere, the environment for those 3 days the vibe it's different, everywhere you will find something is happening. Apart from that, we have our own Annual Sports meet called Sangthan, it is 3 month long event, different dept. Compete, sports captains Represent their dept. From kabbadi to khokho, from cricket to handball, from swimming to badminton, tabke tennis, everything is there. Then student organize ted talks, celebrities come to promote their films, H-block which is our hostel block you will find Domino's, Amul, subway, w.h Smith, and students playing guitar, singing doing all kind of activities, so campus Life is lit. Then dept wise activites happen, food tech dept organize AMIFOST, which is a National conference on food, people from food industries come and share their knowledge, students participate in various competitions. Library is lit, you will find everything in taht freaking beautiful library, it's a 2 storey library, course related books are divided dept. Wise, apart from that you will find various fiction non fiction books, I found Vedas there so just imagine the amount of books one can get, there are computers installed everywhere around the library so you can just sit make your assignments do your thing.

There is no doubt about the timing of the term exam, it is held at fixed time intervals. And talking about the level of the exam, it was moderate to hard. The students who carefully attend the class and do the project work time can easily pass the exam.
