Entrance Preview :
Admission process is, first get shortlisted through GATE examination and which will be followed by an interview. This is one of the college in India, by defence, DRDO to civilian students. Interview though is not that tough compared to IITs/IISc's.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course and curriculum is highly motivated to latest defence technologies and oriented towards it. (e.g Modelling and Simulation, Cyber Security, Forensics etc)There are great chances that you may settle down for DRDO. It is probably the best institute with Labs better than most of the IITs. Raksha Mantri as the chancellor makes this institute a premiere one.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes. It does provide internship. I have seen people from various IITs, BITS, MITs coming for doing internship, mainly due to high end infrastructure and the quality of labs.
Placement Experience :
Placements is one part where it lags to give enough exposure to outside private companies. However there are very good chances of ending up in a government/PSU job. nearly 80% of students gets selected in DRDO, BDL, TATA Power etc. Of course, your caliber will sail you.
College Events :
We conduct conferences, most of the international. Our defence minister visits the college every year as he is the chancellor of the college. It gives lot of pride in shaking hands with out DM. Sports, Cultural, Fest and every other college activity happens in the college.
Campus Life :
Gender Ratio is good (3:5), Religion has no language here, you will find Mandir, Gurudwara, Chruch side by side. The following indoor/outdoor sports, games and past time facilities are available at DIAT .
Faculty :
Faculties in most of the departments are PhD holders with at least 10 to 15 years of experience, however there are few departments like CS which does not have that high quality faculties. Few of them are on the contract basis and fun part, their contract never expires.
