Remarks :
this institute was veryConsiderate about meritorious students who might not have good gate score. No extra fee was charged for non GATE admission. my course was relatively new so special attention was given to tbe students in the teaching process. It is a National Institute which is usually a higher echelon institute.Yet the teaching staff was humble and far more considerate about the problems a student face. The only down side was the administration department some of the students had to face a lot of issues when ot came to the disbursement of stipend. The faculty did a great job navigating the classes during the pandemic but the same tenacity and dedicated was a little wanting from the administrative department.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course was a very important one in today's day and age. The faculty was highly qualified and a few of them even had foreign postdoctoral degrees. the teacher to student ratio was 2:1 which is great as more than one teacher can guide a single student.Examination was semester based and a mid term exam in between. The exams were highly standardised and it used to test the quick thinking ability more than mugging ability in students which is very important in morder education.
Placement Experience :
For biotechnology there weren't any core companies visiting but companies like tcs, Wipro AMD were amongst many companies that visited. I personally am looking forward to a PhD which is fine with the current placement scenario as most colleges in our country do not bring core biotech companies. off campus interview is always an option if you are looking for a job after M.tech
Fee Structure And Facilities :
semester fees were usually around 38-40k if u join the college with gate you are eligible for a stipend of rs 12800 per month. if you have below a certain family income there are opportunities for financial assistance. It is also possible to do teaching assistance but it depends on the department and faculty.
Campus Life :
Its a serene environment where you have the opportunity to join various clubs there is a gym facility where u can go if that is what calls to you. There are big football grounds for students to indulge in. The library is state of the art. Various webinars take place frequently which helps you earn certificates.Both tech fest and Culture fest keeps the energy of the campus high.
Hostel Facilities :
As a hostel accommodated person. The rooms were very good. the washrooms were surprisingly well maintained. The food could be a little better but we always have the option to eat outside with a variety of options as there is a market within the campus
Admission :
Non-GATE admission for me. GATE is recommended
