Remarks :
Overall the college is great, i have lots of good friends and infastructure is great but the timing of girls to stay outside is just not acceptable. Girls are not allowed outside the hostel past 6 p.m atleast the college must make it upto 8 p.m. That much restriction is not there in school also.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had dream of making smartphones from my childhood only, i had designed the pop up camera concept when i wass in 8th standard, but the A4 paper in which i have drawn was lost and i still regret about that. So the craze of smartphones made me choose Electronics and Communication Engineering. And after interacting with seniors i got to know ECE branch of this college is the best. Even better than CSE, and that made me happy. There are 8 semesters and each semester contains 2 major exams that is mid term and end term. Maximun marks of mid term is 50 which is converted to 30% for calculation of CGPA and maximum marks of End Term is 100 which is converted into 50% and the rest 20% is internal marking such as Tests, Assignments, Attendance etc.
Placement Experience :
As i am in the first sem so there are a lot of things yet to be known by me. According to seniors the average package of this college was 5.8 lpa previous year. And yes the college provide internship. There is a cell named Stipend and Scholarship Section, which is located in Student Activity Centre (SAC) building. They actually don't provide much information, they just tell us approach any senior for scholarship information. There are many State schemes for the students who belongs to home state i.e Tripura.
College Events :
There are many events that are celebrated in NITA, in my 3 months in college i have seen Ganesh Pooja, Deepavali, Dandiya Night, workshop on IOT etc. recently Tech Race was held and upcoming events are AAYAM (Tech Fest) there are many more.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
There is 100% tuition fee weavier for SC, ST and PwD students and for those whose income is less than 5 lakh they get 2/3rd of tuition fee weaveir and those whose income is below 1 lakh he/she gets 100% tuition fee weavies, so the main point if someones parents are earning more than 5 lacs per annum then he / she can afford 1.35 lac institute fee.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is SBI bank in the college which is always ready to provide loan to the students with minimum documentation. For SC and ST students there are Top Class SC and Top class ST scholarships and the top 10 of respective category gets the scholarship.
Campus Life :
The sports complex of NITA is the biggest sports complex of entire North-East as per seniors, we have option to play Hockey, Lawn tennis, Table Tennis, Carrom, Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball and Handball. There is a GYM as well which has preety good equipments. The labs are well maintained and there are lots of things in the lab.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel Infrastructure is good, 1st year student gets new inagurated hostel i.e Rabindranath Tagore (RNT) Hostel, which is clean. Facilities are not that good, in a week 4 to 5 days lift don't work, if someone is staying at 7th floor then he's gonna have problem and water coolersshould have been in every floor which is not in the case of RNT.
Alumni/Alumna :
First of all one can say there is no ragging in NITA, the seniors are very helpfull and interacts very politely with juniors and constantly motivates the juniors. As i am in 1st sem so i don't know any alumuni.
Admission :
I got admission to this college through JoSAA and Jee Main. Jee Main is an all India level exam and every year more than 1 million student appear for this exam and arount 25 thousand make it to the one of the 31 NITs. After the result declaration we had to fill application form on josaa and had to fill the choice of colleges. JoSAA provides us the college according to our rank and after that we had to physically report on the obtained college.
Faculty :
In my first semester i am having E.Mechanics, B.Electrical, E.Mathematics, E.Physics, E.Chemistry, Language as my theory subjects and B.Electrical lab, Chemistry lab and Workshop as my lab subjects. E.Mechanics, B.Electrical and Language consists of one faculty only and E.Physics and E.Chemistry consists of 3 faculties and E.Mathematics consists 2 faculties. The faculty of E.Mechanics, B.Electrical and Language are very good. Their teaching styles are awesome. Whereas the faculty of E.Mathematics and E.Chemistry are very good as well but one of the three faculties of E.Physics is the worst. He don't have any concept of physics just makes us write big big paragraph which he wrote on the blackboard by looking at a reference book. Nobody even attends his classes. Chemistry lab and B.Electrical lab faculties are very professional and makes the complex experiments very simple. We have 6 shops in the workshop i.e Machine shop, Carpentry shop, Fitting Shop, Smithy Shop, Welding Shop and Sheet Metal shop. All the faculties of workshop are very well trained and helps us a lot but the faculty of Carpentry shop is unable to communicate properly as neither his english nor hindi is fluent.
