Entrance Preview :
I gave GATE, 2016 for admission to this college. My rank was 4003. The main reason for opting this college was that it was ranked very high, be very specific 2nd ranked in the recently released MHRD ranking of universities, among all the other NITs. Apart from that beforehand I have reviewed its course curriculum also that also was good.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum of my specialisation is very industry oriented & up-to-date. The faculty of our department constantly update the curriculum under TEQIP(Technical Education Quality Improvement Program) so as to meet the present trends prevailling in the industry. In my case at present the whole course of two year M-tech is divided into two years.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, our college do provide internships. Various MNC companies have started visiting our college for selecting students for internships. Last week General electric came for that,next Infine on is scheduled to come,after that ISRO, Intel, ABB etc are in the list. Normally the stipend ranges from 15000 INR to around 30000 INR at most.
Placement Experience :
Placement & job opportunities in SVNIT is sound. But you have to compete among the best brains to get a job here on-campus. In case of B-tech students normally most of the students in a batch get placed, package ranges from 4 lac INR to 30 lac INR at most. Companies such as mu sigma, Abb, Schneider, oracle, JP morgan PPO etc visits.
College Events :
Our college has a lot of events being celebrated on-campus. Most of them are celebrated in even semesters. Our college fest named SPARSH is very famous for its cultural events. This five-day festival consists of Mega-attractions, Informal events, Technical events, Managerial events among numerous other competitions like Band-Wars, Sparsh Idol and many more.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure of my college is feasible, it's not too expensive. For my course specifically 35000 INR is the tuition fees, 28300 is the mess & hostel fees there were some nominal admission fees as well as caution deposit too in all total while admission we had to pay around 81000 Rupees INR. In the second year or last year of your course, you have to pay only extra 4000 INR as you convocation fees above the aforesaid mentioned amount.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
In our case college provides us MHRD GATE scholarship of 12500 INR every month. Apart from that, our college provides full tuition fees remission of economically underprivileged students/SC-ST students. They only have to pay hostel & mess charges. If you get admission in any of the undergraduate courses in SVNIT banks such as SBI, BOI etc will give you the educational loan on cheaper.
Exam Structure :
The exam structure of our college is very flexible & friendly. In each semester you have to give an MID-Sem exam & last the end semester Exam. The marks of end sem exam is divided by 2 & then added to whatever you have scored in the Mid-semester exam. Apart from that, you have to give a practical exam, viva as well as quiz.
Faculty :
The faculties of our college in all the departments are very learned & scholarly(I have got reviews from my friends of other departments too about their faculties during casual chat). Some of them are so eminent that their ideas about technical implementation of a particular technical theory is being utilized by big MNCs.
