Grinds my Gears!

Remarks :

The college is good as a whole. Placements are really good. Campus is missing. Extc and mech have a horrible faculty. Cs and IT have a great faculty. Labs for mech are missing. Go for this college only if you want cs or it.

Entrance Preview :

I had given CET and scored 136 marks. I wanted mechanical engineering and it was not offered in all the colleges under mu. The list of reputed colleges for mech was much shorten one. Finally with my score and option, Dj sanghvi came out on the top of my choices.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is provided by and followed of the Mumbai University. It, to be fair, is actually pretty decent, if only it was carried out how it is supposed to. The main objectives are education excellence and more practical knowledge which solely depends on the faculty and the student.

Internships Opportunities :

The college does not provide any internship. In fact, if you want to do any externally, they are not even cooperative and will eventually create unnecessary problems.

Placement Experience :

The placements were fairly good in the past. Almost everyone who wanted to got placed. 15 companies have already come this year for mech. 100+ students placed. Best placement and most companies visit cs and it. They are followed by extc and then the rest.

College Events :

Dj sanghavi's event is called trinity. It is a really good fest with multiple events. It has everything you want in a college event with great crowd and celebrity appearances. Sports day has athletics, football, cricket, basketball etc. Then indoor games like Carrom, tt, chess etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Expensive. In the first year my fees for the year was 1.25l. Compare this with college of the same repute its almost 20% more. Their is almost no campus, no labs for my department and faculty is laughable. But still we are charged 80k of tuition fees.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college does not offer any loan facility. Fees has to be paid by dd in full. Scholarships are offered if you top all the branches in your year.

Campus Life :

Campus life is very nice. The crowd that comes to this college is generally higher middle class. Gender ratio varies with branches. Their is no shortage of extracurricular throughout the degree. A workshop is conducted almost once in every month. You have plenty of opportunities to get certificates and experience in different fields very easily. Gujarati crowd is more in the college as they have a minority quota.

Hostel Facilities :

Their are no hostels of our college. Though you can easily find a number of pgs, flats and other hostel in the locale. They are expensive. The college canteen is FFF. It is fairly decent as far as the quality goes. The quantity is less. The variety of food is missing. You'll get very less variety compared to different college canteens.

Alumni/Alumna :

The senior students are very helpful throughout. They help out whenever asked for. No ragging or teasing is ever done in the college.

Exam Structure :

As we all know engineering is not easy. You will get used to the hectic days and long college hours. The college however will not press you much on attendance as long as you maintain the 75% criteria. Lab work can sometimes be too much but it never gets in the way with your health.

Admission :

Dj sanghavi has its own independent process of admission. Firstly, you have to fill an online form to apply for the college, whose dates are displayed on the college website. After that, admission process is carried out in rounds. In round 1, everybody has to report to the college and the students with highest marks are given their choice of branch. This allocation is carried out in descending order of the marks until the seats are filled. I got admission in round 3.

Faculty :

The faculty of the college is different for different branches. The computer science and IT branches have one of the best laboratories and faculty. Whereas, the mechanical has a very struggling and a pitiful faculty. The laboratories are absent. We have to go to our neighboring college (mukesh patel) if we have to carry out any practical. The faculty is as lost as the students and clueless in every aspect.

Talking about placements, most of the placements occurs in CSE and IT branch, but surprisingly in the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, the Mechanical branch has the same placements comparatively just the fact is that the package is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Placement Experience:

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.
