Maulik Parekh's Review On Vellore Institute Of Technology - [VIT University], Vellore

Entrance Preview :

I don't remember my score but as no of the seats are more so, if you are above average then according to me, you can easily crack this exam. For B. Tech people, it's VITEEE. I have opted for this college because of the below benefits: 100 % placements if you are above average and want to work hard Brand, Reputation in the market, Good Faculties.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, I got an internship in HP R&D, Bangalore college is providing internships, it's the same as placements, you have to crack the written test and interview. Though everyone is not getting changes to get an internship, those people will do in-house project/research stipend range: 15000-45000 per month.

Placement Experience :

One of the best things, I like about this institute is placements they are no 1 in providing placements every year they are cracking their own records of no of students placed from both institutes offer varies from 3 LPA to 20 LPA. There are some exceptional cases also, but I am not considering that let me tell you my example. I got 3 offers, Infosys, Cognizant, and HP R&D. And at last, I landed at CISCO as an off-campus placement because of more salary and brand value.

College Events :

Lots of events happen in both Chennai and Vellore campuses example: one of the popular events is called "vit riviera". It is full of rock concerns and they always call popular celebrities! So you will enjoy the entire week as a part of the event. There are no restrictions on attending cross-campus events. Not only Indians but non-Indians people are also taking admission in VIT. So you can see different cultures and festivals. We are celebrating all kinds of festivals in VIT.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

I can say that fee structure is expensive compare to other institutes as it is a private institute but it will give you a fruitful result in terms of learning and placement opportunities and personality development. So I think a middle-class family can afford VIT Institute as I belong to a middle-class family.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you have cracked the Gate exam, only the top 3 students will get a stipend I don't have much idea about the scholarship/loan facility, please visit VIT's official website for more information they are cooperative and I guess, they are providing help for an education loan, though not sure.

Campus Life :

Campus life is awesome VIT Vellore campus is better in all aspects to compare to VIT Chennai. Believe me! You will get all the opportunities whether it's different cultural activities, sports, games, different workshops, seminars but we have 24 hours/day, it's up to you, how you want to utilize it.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are good but the food was average like other colleges may be north-Indian people don't like food compare to south-Indian we have three categories in mess: north Indian Mess south Indian Mess special Mess (Daily Juice, other recipes apart from Normal North/South Indian Mess so please don't expect that you will get a hotel like of food, but it's more than enough to survive. Also, there is a food court and supermarket so anytime you can go and have some food/snacks.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, we have an alumni network! You can google it. Vitians are everywhere believe me! As the population of vitians is more, you will get more help compared to any other institutes.

Exam Structure :

The exam structure is not much chilled, I can't say hectic also as the institute follows the percentile system so it easily compares to the percent system and you can easily score above 7. I was one of the top 3 students in the branch I don't think you will feel any trouble if you are an average/above-average student.

Admission :

The admission process is systematic like another regular college process. As per your slot allotment, they will call you and at a time, you have to decide which course you want to go for based on availability. As no of seats are more, no of applicants are also more. VIT has 2 campuses currently (one more will come in the future in Bangalore I went to the VIT Chennai campus.

Faculty :

Faculties are well qualified and research-oriented. One of the best things is you can go for research also apart from your regular study and you can concern any faculties and they are really to help there are many experience faculties who came from industries also.

Admission:

In May we wrote the Entrance exam. And the mark is calculated based on the mark we score in the entrance exam and also the 12th standard marks taken in certain Percentage decided by the University Board. In one month they will announce the marks online or on the University Board. Then in a couple of days, counselling will happen.
