Remarks :

I applied for all IITs nits and bits although I was getting chemical in bits pilani I preferred nitk surathkal mainly due to the vibe you get here the environment is not too competitive and is just perfect for both academically and personal growth

Course Curriculum Overview :

Chemical engineering profs at nitk are soo good that the chemical department is as same as compared to mechanical in terms of placement The faculty-student ratio is very good and there is only one batch of chemical with 60 students so each and everyone gets quite a great opportunity to interact with profs

Class Size : 74Course Fees : INR 134000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

All types of companies come here even if you are looking for core or tech companies Personally, I don't know how much stipend is given but they are pretty fine as of what I have heard till now In general, the placement scene is competitive here

Placement Experience :

Placements are quite good and you get great packages if you are worth it Some great companies offer placement here including GMS and Microsoft With 8lpa the average salary for the chemical engineering department it's just great

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As it is a government college fee is minimal here costing below 1L per semester also fees are reduced for PPL having quota and in most cases, the tuition fee is made free for such students Coming from a middle-class family the fees is not an issue as it is well affordable and scholarship is very easy to apply for

Campus Life :

Nitk is the only college in India with a private beach of its own with a lamp house College life at nitk is truly amazing with a huge beautiful campus and a beach there is nothing more one can ask for There are 4 fests all around the year Cultural fest - incident Tech fest - engineer Kite fest ( where PPL gather on the beach to fly kites ) Bharat darshan ( another amazing fest where PPL of different states compete among one another )

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel and accommodation facilities are manageable and I am sure you will get a hang of it once you get to the college Mess food is okayish,yeah it is a south Indian college so you will get coconut oil and typical south Indian thing but the best thing is ice cream that you get at dinner 3-4 nights a week

placements during the current scenario are hard and they offer less perks highest goes to around for 20 lakhs for 2-3 students all others placed are around 3-7 lakhs mark students placed are around 50 percent there are companies like adobe and Capgemini comming to campus

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to get placements from their 6th to 7th semester as whatever basic is needed by them to a company is embedded into them. Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, and many other companies visit our college and make many offers. The highest package in my course was 47 L.P.A previous year and average is 7 to 8 L.P.A. Almost all students get placed in our branch almost every year. I just wanna do a start-up after completion of my course and getting my degree.
