My college experience

Remarks :

The colleges I had applied was only the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. I took admission in the same through General Category only, which did not involve any kind of quota. The Program I had applied to was an MBA in Business Administration which is a flagship program of XIMB. The admission criteria were atleast 94 percentile in XAT/CAT for General Category, which was the minimum requirement for undergoing any counselling process. The Counselling process involved two processes: Group Debate and then a personal interview based on an essay that was given on the spot to the candidates by the counselling team. In the group debate round, a common topic was given, for which there was a total time of 10 mins in which 2 minutes was given for thinking about the topic while the other 6 minutes to discuss and conclude, the remaining 2 minutes were given for the final point forward from each participant. This was followed up with an essay and a personal interview.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This course is the most comprehensive in terms of course, subject and life skills addition while maintaining a clear eye on industry standards. The Faculty-Student ratio is 1:2 which clearly indicated the personal focus given to the students.

Internships Opportunities :

Ample internship opportunities with a lot of live projects making sure that the various courses are getting utilised. The projects were live as well as static in nature but, it ensured that all companies actually visit the college.

Placement Experience :

The Placement plans of the college are good enough as per the investment taken. The average package of 12 LPA and the highest was in the range of 25 LPA. The college gave its best in getting the best for the college students.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees hike policy is 20% on a bi-yearly basis. This was done on all the components of the fees, which was made to make sure the college takes into account the inflation along with its fees. The college was given financial assistance as it qualified for the scholar loan and the lean interest were as low as 9.2%.

Campus Life :

The most amazing lifestyle is possible with all students making the most of the 24/7 library as well as the playing court which was available for all students almost every minute. The night mess ensured that no one remains hungry during the night as well as ensuring that everyone gets a proper education.

Hostel Facilities :

One of the best hostel facilities as well as things, available in terms of facilities. This was ensured by a very unique structure in which every other room was accessible to each of the other students.

Interview Experience :

Yes, there was a GD, an essay and an interview. The topic of the GD was mostly of the common GK. The essay was an abstract topic, the interview was mostly based on college course as well as personal life.

Placement Experience:

After the summer internship. The college started giving campus placement training and during the month of September, students got placement already. Companies like TATA AIG, Collegedunia, Federal Bank, Delloite, ADP, TCI, SIS, HDFC AMC. IDFC BANK. Practo, ADVARISK, AXIS BANK. Property pistol came and took a maximum of students. The highest package was offered by international companies like property pistol with 22 lac CTC and average being 5lacs. Mostly the profile was on sales and marketing. only a few fintech companies could recruit students. Till now around 96% of students are placed in different domains and already started working. I am fortunate enough to get placed in the FEDERAL bank with 10lac CTC and as a fresher joining such a big company will be extremely grateful to the college and its placement team. They personally look after students drawback by the feedback they get from the recruitment teams and suggest where to improve and give a number of opportunities to seat for the company.

Placement Experience:

After 3rd semester you will get the chance to opt for placement. This college doesn't provide much placement but it's better than other government colleges. As there is a lockdown since 2020, this year students didn't get much chance for placement.

Remarks:

My experience at the college was great. I have no negative remarks for it. Just that should have more job opportunities for finance and hour profiles. That is the main reason for which people join, so this should be taken care of
