This is the most intriguing course for students wishing to pursue design.

Remarks :

The admission process is entirely online, you need to take an entrance exam based on design after sharing your portfolio and give an interview. Ecole Intuit Lab has its own website where you can find all the details of the course you wish to apply for. The faculty is knowledgeable and give feedback for every assignment you do. It is a 4 years intense course which covers all the aspects of design. The infrastructure, campus and the facilities are all amazing. I chose this college because of its wide array of subjects they provide every year. They have internships in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because I wanted to pursue design as a career and this provided me with an incredible opportunity to learn with some of the professionals in their own careers who teach design at Ecole Intuit Lab. I am in my first year currently and we have 13 subjects with 10 faculty members and a class of 29 students. The teaching quality is excellent, they are very precise, organized and give us some brilliant feedback for our assignments. They make sure the brief is thoroughly explained before we start any assignment. Each student is given personal attention. We have a project week per semester which are considered exams and they test our creativity and time management skills through these, they are usually very fun and exciting. The teachers grade us based on the quality of the work.

Internships Opportunities :

Again, as I am in my first year I am not aware of the placements as much but they are associated with some of the best design agencies in Mumbai. The names of the companies can be easily found on the Ecole Intuit Lab website. The paid internship monthly salary varies from person to person based on their work.

Placement Experience :

As I am only in my first year I don't know much about the placements personally. However, there are internships starting from the 2nd year which give us industry experience before graduating. According to my knowledge, 98% of the students get jobs right after the completion of the course. I may apply for a Master's degree or work at a design agency. The faculty will guide you and get you interviews for your internships and placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee is INR 2360000 for the period of 4 years. There is an opportunity to apply for a scholarship during the admission process. They consider scholarships based on merit and financial assistance both. The scholarship is usually a 20% decrease from the total fees. There are internships in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year, these can be paid or unpaid depending on the student work. 98% of the students get a job right after graduating.

Campus Life :

Due to the pandemic, our classes were completely online so it became difficult to communicate for events. I visited the campus just a few times and it has good infrastructure, the classrooms are spacious and bright, there is Wi-Fi in every classroom, a canteen, a library and a common area where you can play table tennis during your free time too. There is an STU club that organizes fun events year-round.

Interview Experience :

There was a personal interview with a faculty members in which they will ask you general questions based on the portfolio you have used for the application, why you would want to choose design as your career and if you have any queries you can ask the faculty member during the interview as well. There was an easy entrance exam that you need not prepare for, it's a basic design aptitude test.

Placement Experience:

We have internships from the second year. This gears us towards industry life. In the summer before the third year, we need to intern for 1-3 months. In the 4th year, we intern for half the year and come back in the 2nd semester for our grand projects. Almost all of our students leave with an internship/job offer at the end of 4 years. This is due to the constant effort of our administration to organise exhibitions that invite industry greats. My plan after Ecole, is to work at a branding agency for a few years before pursuing an MFA in Graphic Design.

Being able to get admission is one of the dream come true for a student. To get admission in such highly competitive world where so many students are applying for a course and wants to follow their passion, it was very difficult to get admission in the college. The application process was simple though.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the course wants to break status quo and encourage the new innovative methods of learnings and explorings and set new ways. They want the students to feel and experience the design world. The students are also encouraged to learn and develop sensitive emotions so that they can improve their creativity level as well as are able to take up challenges to demonstrate their personal connection with the design philosophy.

This is not a full time course and a student can get admission in a regular full time course side by side. The admission process is easy and it involves the student to be passionate about the course. They check if the student has completed class 10+2 from any recognized school or board.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main purpose of teaching this course to the passionate students is to provide them a pathway through different and distinctive levels of subject competencies and different areas about innovation and depth learning in the field of apparels, fashion and designing. Candidates should have passed class 10+2 from any recognised university and the minimum percentage isn't required here as the selection criteria. The student can pursue a regular course like Bcom or BA along with this course. You can call the management on the hotline if there's any confusion and they will sort it out.

Placement Experience:

Most of the students start their own fashion house but few of them who are looking for full time job opportunities can contact the college placement department and let them know that they would be looking forward to the job placements offered by the college. They will fill the application form and will be interviewed at the time of the end of the program.

I was always interested in art and sketching in school, which in turn led to an assumption to many close relatives of mine, including my parents, that I will want to surely pursue a career in fine arts or something. My mom surfed more on the internet, and learnt about a design career, which is a combination of common other careers like engineering, architecture and commercial arts.

Admission:

There are 3 main competitive layers of the entrance exam. The first one is theoretical, and for that, many students including me were attending classes. I attended a class every weekend for two years which helped me pass the first theoretical exam of MIT institute of Design. After getting a call from the Institute about my selection, I got ready for my next exam, which was the Studio test.
