My college experience

Remarks :

The faculty is very knowledgeable about the subject though I am worried about the placements since they promised placements across the globe now we are having to locate placements for ourselves. I chose this college over others due to the brand name and word of mouth from a friend. The admission process was simple and straightforward.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course to improve my design skills and to improve my portfolio to a level that I get selected at one of the best colleges abroad. The faculty to student ratio is one to 25. The faculty is well qualified but the teaching method is through feedback which ultimately does take a toll on your motivation to study design and to work on assignments.

Internships Opportunities :

I still haven't reached the placement and internship stage but there is a compulsory internship for 2 months post the course which we are supposed to get from the college as part of the programme. The internships are for 2 months.

Placement Experience :

Students get eligible for placements in the last and third semester. We have to locate our own placements and the packages range from 35000 to 60000. Post getting the degree I plan on working freelance and the percentage of students who get placement is 100%.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I did not receive any financial assistance or any scholarship but there was an offer going on through which if I paid the fees early, I would get a discount. the cost to study is relatively high and I constantly contemplate the value for money that is being gotten.

Campus Life :

There is no campus life since this is a pandemic situation and classes are being held online but the interaction with other students and faculty through zoom meetings is still very good and at par with the campus.

Interview Experience :

There was only a written test and the interview held post that. There was no sort of preparation for that. I simply showed previous work so as to get admission and my CV along with speaking about myself for the interview.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my bachelors I knew I wanted to do something in films and during my final year I started searching for colleges for pgd. XIC is one of the few colleges that provides practical knowledge to students instead of focusing more on theoretical knowledge.

Placement Experience:

The college doesn't really privide any placements for a film course, however top brands and companies visit the campus for other courses with generous packages and profiles. The percentage of students getting place is a near 98% percent which the institute boasts of

Remarks:

The management is good and provides all the help you need. The surrounding is ultimate. The place is like a resort. Alumni network used to be active on the first year. As of now it is inactive. Personal relations are there with some of the juniors. College does not take any initiative.

Entrance Preview:

First round written. Second round interview and audition. Third round 3 day workshop. It is the best film institute in Asia with great infrastructure, industry professionals as visiting faculty and great philosophy of learning and living.

Placement Experience:

Most technicians at the highest levels are Ftii alumnus. Acting passout from FTII itself carries value and grants an audience for any kind of role. The rest of it depends on the individual's hard work. But the institute provides everything one needs.
