NMIMS Navi Mumbai - Budding with Opportunities

Remarks :

My reasons for choosing the NMIMS Navi Mumbai campus was its location I.e. Mumbai. Then it's relation the NMIMS brand. Plus the previous year placement data I.e. for the year 2020 wherein there were 50 companies that had visited the campus and the highest salary offered was 15 LPA. Also it had the advantage of being the NMIMS global campus.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The batch has an equal distribution when it comes to opting for various streams in second year. Since the batch of 2020 they have been offering MBA degree so the syllabus is at par with the main Mumbai campus. The faculties are all PhD holders and extremely knowledgeable in their field. For every 8 students there is a faculty mentor. The college strictly adheres to the academic calendar and the exams are also conducted in a timely fashion. The exam is all application-based and if you are interested in the subject matter and know how to apply the concepts that are taught during the lectures. You will easily score well in the exams. The key is to pay attention during lectures.

Internships Opportunities :

Multiple companies came to hire students for the summer internship opportunity, everyone got summer internships. Plus a majority of us got the roles we wanted. We got hands-on experience during our summer internship, under various facets of the roles we were interning for.

Placement Experience :

For the entire 1st-year students are given a chance to do multiple LIVE projects to augment their CVs for the summer placement. In the 2020 pass-out batch, the average salary was somewhere around 10 LPA and the highest package was 15 LPA. Since then one more batch has passed out of NMIMS Navi Mumbai the data for the same is yet to be released. For the year 2020 there were 50 companies like TCS, Sales Force, Bisleri, etc that visited the campus

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees for NMIMS Navi Mumbai is towards the hefty side. Personally, I felt the services and amenities they provide in that amount is also justified. At NMIMS we have access to Harvard Business Review case studies, all the latest business world software are available to us too. Being a private school year the fees is hefty.

Campus Life :

My MBA has started off in an online fashion therefore I was very apprehensive of the fact as to how will my campus /social life be. But then again via the various group projects, committees and clubs, I found myself interacting with my batch and forging bonds that I think will last forever. There were multiple online fest and competitions organised like Margdarshak 2.0, Avion Buzz, TEDX are a few to name. NMIMS Navi Mumbai has an extensive online and offline library we have access to some of the best HBR case studies, and other leading journals and research papers.

Interview Experience :

Yes, there was a CD i.e. case discussion followed by personal interviews. The cases are always related to current trending topics. One needs to be abreast with what is happening in and around the world to crack the CD/PI process. My preparation was structured around knowing everything under sun about my hobbies, interest, likes dislike and most importantly my opinions about different issues. I also read the leading newspapers like The Hindu, The economic times etc.

Placement Experience:

There is a dedicated placement cell that looks at the placements of MBA students. The final year students sit for placements. Until now the placements are not so good but it is improving at a steady rate. Companies such as Accenture, Deloitte, Flipkart, Amazon, ICICI Bank and others come for placements. I don’t have a clear idea about the packages offered but it was around 7-8 LPA on an average.

Placement Experience:

Placements here are decent. The average package of the batch is around 8 lakhs, which is nice considering the pandemic. A lot of good companies visit the campus like Goldman Sachs, Ernst, and Young, KPMG, Deloitte, etc. So, if you perform well here then you can get a good placement from the campus.

Remarks:

College is a little fast paced. Each semester lasts only for 3 months where we have to study 8 subjects in addtion to assignment, presentation, class tests.Social life gets affected if you are a localite as you have to travel to powai which isn't well connected via metro and railways.

Entrance Preview:

I got admission on the bases of my undergraduate scores which was very good. Admission process of this college was good and very simple.

Placement Experience:

Companies like JP Morgan, KPMG, PWC, E&Y have come to the campus and offered 10000/- to 20000/- monthly stipend. I have attended roughly one of those. Regretfully, I cannot provide you with the details of the number of students placed and the exact amount offered because I was not a member of the placement cell. But the college had a placement cell which conducted weekly meetings and trained the students for interviews.
