IMI,New Delhi Review

Remarks :

The minimum cat percentile required for IMI HR is 88 with a +- of 2 percentile year on year. IMI is not very stringent on the academic background of a student and 10,12, grad of 60+ would suffice. I had calls from Tapmi, Gim, IIM Ranchi HR and xiss HR as well and ended up converting all except IIM Ranchi. The admission process is one of the most competitive in respect to tier 2 colleges. The selection yield ratio remains one of the lowest testifying to the rigorous assessment that the students go through to secure a seat. There is no reservation or quota for getting into IMI and one needs to qualify on their merit however post admission there is relaxation in fees for EWS Quota.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Every faculty in IMI holds a PhD/FPM degree and for each subject, there are guest sessions conducted of at least 3+ hours. I had an underlying interest in human resources management from undergrad days and benchmarking IMI with similar ranked colleges made me narrow down in my option with IMI having an edge in placements, alumni base and industry connect. Imi has a very healthy student: faculty ratio with somewhere around 1:9 for PGDM general and lesser than 1:6 for HR. This makes the HR course stand out with a greater number of eminent professors in the OB/HR area. This helps when faculty mentors are assigned to HR students during their SIP with greater attention provided. classes are highly case based and provides hands on experience to students.mid term Exams are conducted after 10 sessions are completed for each subject and end term after 20 sessions.

Placement Experience :

Majority of companies offering good profiles and compensation visit during the initial weeks. Candidates having work experience and an exceptional academic profile have more chances of sitting for these companies. A good number of opportunities are provided for students to kick-start their corporate career in the management domain. Premier companies visit our campus during the initial phases and are comparable to tier 1 institutes. Many students even get placed in corporate competitions which are open to IMI.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees at IMI is one of the highest compared to any tier b-school. Fees have been hiked even this year for the batch of 2021-23 but the experience even though online is worth it. Although the infrastructure costs saved could have been used by not hiking the fees for the upcoming batch. Fees if not paid within the mentioned timeline, then late fees charges of 1000/day apply. Scholarships forms are provided before the commencement of the session to the students belonging to the EWS category. At the end of the first year, merit scholarships are provided to the top 3 scoring students from each of PGDM/BFS/HRM.

Campus Life :

Annual Fest is Kritva taking place in February each year with another important event, Conventus being conducted in September. Conventus is a management conclave with industry panel discussions on a theme decided each year. Students are provided with access to Economic times, financial express, Research Gate, Sage publications, CMIE and many others which one could use during research work and other projects. For aspirants reading this review, we have been provided with physical copies of books for online classes and even the next batches will receive them.

Interview Experience :

For the year 2020, there was no GD but we had WAT, Extempore and PI. WAT topic for most of the panels was either from the ongoing current affairs, major incidents of past or some ethical and business situations related. Extempore was conducted along with the interview and in most cases after/before the interview is conducted. Reading from various sources would be sufficient and preparing for the VA section in CAT also helps tremendously.

Placement Experience:

Placement of the colleges is very nice after the internship gap after that we have semester 3 and while we are in semester 3 the companies start approaching us domain wise so if one is into marketing they will have so many options and is there into operations we have very few companies so it's a thing in the college but if you are someone who isn't place the college will take care all though they provide enough companies like in internship in my batch we had around 40 companies and I feel like in the placement they also help a lot

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am a MBA student. I wanted to do it for my own father's company. But I've faced a lot of issues in my 1 sem. Also i would like to tell about the teacher of QT because of her i got a back in my exams. Improvements are surely required because most of the students fail in QT. I've asked from my seniors too there is no management for this subject. Also the exam level was high because we didn't knew what even the syllabus was

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for final placements in third semester and summer placements in the first semester itself. We have many big names here in the campus JP Morgan Chase and Co, Morgan Stanley, AON, ICICI Bank, Atomberg, Hindalco, Deloitte, KPIT, Samsung, etc. Almost all the students get placed here. I'd the percentage is above 90. The highest placement offered was 26LAC+ and the average stood at 14lacs. I am currently intern at a company via the college placements and am working towards getting a PPO. If I get one, I plan on staying in the same company.

Placement Experience:

College offers its students placements which makes them give a loud shout-out. Although the placement process is hair-raising, the results are out of the league when compared to the rest of B-schools. Please check the placement report in detail from our website, because my words won't be able to do justice to the results we have.

Remarks:

My experience with the USMS IPU institute was pretty exceptional. I would definitely recommend this institute for whosoever is looking to pursue a master's degree in the region. Admissions are on the basis of the entrance exam organized by the university, itself. Infrastructure is world-class and everyone is pretty supportive here.
