Remarks :

Is a good college for Water Resource Engineering. All faculties are good. The campus is just awesome. College is one of the best locations in Surat City. Mess, Gym, Student activities arrangements are too good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is good and the labs for it are so well and have all the instruments that are required for the practicals. The faculty-student ratio is as required. All the facilities are experienced and PhD holders. Exams are taken timely and in a proper manner.

Course Fees : INR 70000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Yes. Many people do summer and winter internships at SVNIT. Projects based in various research topics at various engineering research areas were available at the college. A stipend was available depending upon the type of work.

Placement Experience :

For masters, students from the 3rd semester were eligible for placements. AECOM, WSP, TCE, etc visited campus for placements. The highest package was 24 L CTC and beverage package would be something around 5 L.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee Structure is good as it is an NIT. There was no fee hike during my tenure at the college. A scholarship was provided by the college for the students that had joined through a good gate score. I had joined TCE through campus recruitment.

Campus Life :

Campus Life at SVNIT is very good. All the hostels at SVNIT are too good including the mess food. The new library building was the best. A big cricket ground, lawn tennis courts, indoor badminton courts, pool, gymnasium, etc were the facilities at SVNIT. Sparsh was the annual event of SVNIT. www.svnit.gov.in is the official website of the college.

Hostel Facilities :

For the first year had a 2 sharing room in Sarabhai Bhawan. In the second year, it was a single occupancy room with a table, chair, whiteboard, bed and mattress, pillow. The mess facility at the hostel is awesome. There was a night canteen system at the hostel which used to open from 11 pm to 3 am.

Hostel Fee : INR 30000 per year

Interview Experience :

No. After passing the Gate examination there was no other interview or group discussion or written test taken. A valid gate score was only the criteria. No other formalities. The admission process started after the final round.

For this course there is no placement facilities as placement already done while course admission. Package for L&T was 4.2 LPA in 2013. Out of 9 students 6 students were L&T sponsered. also other company gives sponsership like ESSAR had given 1 students in 2013-2015 batch. only 2 students had to find job form their own.

Life At IIT Gandhinagar

Placement Experience:

Around 80% of students got placed in my batch. The top recruiters include Goldman Sachs, HPCL, ITC, Adani, Infosys, KPIT, etc. The average package is around 21LPA. The highest package is 51LPA. The college makes us ready to face the industry through clubs, meets, and workshops.
