Remarks :
One of the good aspects of MICA is its forte in marketing. It is termed as MECCA OF MARKETING! The campus is scenic especially during MICANVAS. The pedagogy adopted is very inclusive. The placements are also decent. The admission criteria include scores of MICAT( held twice), CAT/ XAT/ GMAT, group exercise, personal interview, past academic records as well as work experience. I preferred MICA over my other converts due to my affinity towards marketing and media. I referred to collegedunia, not just in my post-graduation but also in graduation.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The student-faculty ratio is 16:1. There are 3 terms of 12 weeks each. Summer vacation occurs at the end of the first year. At this students are engaged in their summer internships. The course commences in July. There is also an International Immersion program, the partner institutes include Michigan State University and many more. The faculty includes professors with expertise in marketing fields. There is also a 7-day rural immersion program. It includes live projects and ethnographic case studies in collaboration with several NGOs. It usually occurs in April. The exams are held on a timely basis.
Internships Opportunities :
100% of students obtain summer internships.3 in 10 students bag a PPO or PPI. The average stipend offered is around Rs 98349. The highest stipend offered while I sat for summer placements was Rs 3.12 lakhs. 78 recruiters participated in the process. There was an increase of 19.89% in the average stipend offered to a batch. A few of the recruiters to mention were Lenskart, Swiggy, Nestle, Diageo, MTR, Target, etc.
Placement Experience :
The average CTC is around Rs 12.86 to 13.98 lakhs. 88 recruiters participated in the process. 67.54% of students are placed in the FMCG sector. Other recruiters are from fields like advertising, retail, FMCD, media, analytics, consulting, and IT. A few major recruiters include Amazon, AMUL, HUL, Jawa, Citi, Titan, MTR, Group M, Raymond, Target, Google, Intel, Puma, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The fee is 21 lakhs. It includes tution as well as hostel fees. In my opinion, it is towards a higher side. Loans upto 20 lakhs can easily be obtained mortgage-free. Scholarships are given to a certain number of students(20-25). The criteria for the same is academic and class attendance as well as annual income less than 10 lakhs.
Campus Life :
There are many student committees and councils at MICA, to name a few- Studio 7, Micompass, MICAjagriti, MICAminds, MICAplacecomm, Sankalp, MEDICARE, etc. Students have access to journals, case studies, library, e-books, etc. MICANVAS is the most exciting event at MICA. It makes MICA a dreamland.
Interview Experience :
There was a group exercise. We had 3 members on the judging panel. We were divided in batches each consisting of 12 students. The duration of it was around 15 minutes. I had a morning slot. The PI included 3 members again in the judging panel. The duration was around 20 minutes. I was asked about the importance of staying well-groomed or it is a waste of time as most of us spend 30-35 minutes of our day in grooming and making ourselves look good and neat. I was asked about my favorite brands and why are they my favorite. Also, what is my dream company as well as will I join my family business, or would prefer working in my dream company.
