Remarks :

The scores of CAT, XAT and GMAT. There are no well-defined cut-offs for this score. The selection criteria include CAT, XAT and GMAT score (anyone can work), MICAT (held twice)-any score above 50 would be great. I preferred MICA over other colleges as its the 'MECCA OF MARKETING' and I have a strong affinity for various areas of marketing and advertising. The pros of the institute are its renowned faculty that includes acclaimed academicians, visiting faculty and industry experts, its serene campus and its strong alumni base. The cons include its quite high fees and its non-favorability for students who aspire to pursue general management, finance or OB-HR as the course curriculum is inclined toward the various dimension of marketing and creativity.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The student-faculty is 16:1. The faculty is very erudite and full of accomplishments. Classrooms are very inclusive. The overall scores are based on in-class performance, exams, assignments, projects, summer internship and a 7-day rural immersion program. The entire course is a composition of 1. Core & foundational subjects, 2. Specialization subject and 3. elective subjects. The rural immersion program consists of live projects and ethnographic case studies.

Internships Opportunities :

79 recruiters participated in the summer placements. The recruitment for the same starts at the end of the first year. The average stipend is around Rs89,000. The students are offered diverse job profiles by e-commerce, FMCG, FMCD, Retail, Advertising, Consulting and other sectors.

Placement Experience :

The average placement ranges around Rs 12.8 to 13.98 Lakhs. The highest package offered is around Rs 32.8 lakhs (domestic) and Rs.59 lakhs (International). The key recruiters are Loreal, Britannia, Amul, Amazon, Intel, JAWA, Mahindra, ICICI Bank, Target etc.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The fees are Rs.21 lakhs and are inclusive of residential fees. Mortgage-free loans can be obtained from a range of banks including Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank etc. Scholarships are offered on basis of academic performance, attendance and annual family income.

Campus Life :

The student's committee is very proactive and creative, to name a few- SCAM, MICAminds, SANKALP, MICAminds, MICAVaani, MICAlumni, Team Interface, MICAplacecomm, MICRE, MICA leadership series. The campus looks like a magic land in various fest and events especially MICANVAS.

Interview Experience :

There is a group exercise and a personal interview round. Group exercise is of about 10 minutes duration. It judges the candidate's ability to contribute to the group and not to outshine in the group. This must be kept in mind. The interview was a smooth one. Did it include questions based on mergers & acquisitions, my dream company, why MICA? and my hobbies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The out carricular activities are also present in the college and the students are participating in the activities as well. Teachers need to work on the mode of teaching like the classes timing are not fixed and some teachers need to work on the subject properly. The time duration is very low with exams and some exams are continuously going on in the college.

After completing the summer internship the placement season starts at the campus which is roughly around 3rd sem. Many reputable companies visit the campus like TCS, Adani, Vodafone, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Torrent, Federal Bank and many more... This year Federal Bank has offered the highest package to student of around 12 lac and hired 2 students. The average package CTC would be around 5 lac and many job roles are being offered according to the company's profile but there are limited companies that come in the field of HR. The placement rate is around 90% and if you don't get selected then you can apply from outside on your own to the companies.
