Remarks :
The Good thing about this College is the Club Culture which helps in the overall growth of a Student. Everyone here is interested in the club activities and tries to develop each and everyday that is why ISRO collaborated with the college and Built an Innovation Centre. The bad aspect of the college is the Administration where the thing they only care about is doing whatever they want just because they are in Power of making decisions. The Admission process is by applying through the OJEE website for the Branch through the JEE Main marks secured. Then confirming the admission by going to an OJEE center nearby. The reason for selecting this college is because of the Club Culture where we can develop our overall skills which are rare in any other govt college in Odisha except in NIT Rourkela and IIT Bhubaneswar. Another reason being it is one of the oldest and well known Govt College of Odisha and after collaboration with ISRO, it is a well-known college all over India. To know more vssut.ac.in
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because I wanted to be in a position after my 3rd Year where I can choose between pursuing my career in Communication or else in Computer Science. The Faculty-Student ratio is good here. We have a class with 60-70 students. Teachers are highly qualified and their teaching method is good. The Semester Exams are held every 6 months and mid sem in between them. It's easy to pass the exams if we listen in the class and revise properly.
Internships Opportunities :
There is an initiative by E Cell called Interno where many private Companies provide Internships and Colleges to help in providing Internships from DRDO, MCL, etc. The roles are mostly teaching-based and project-based. The projects are mostly government-funded for government institutions and they help during the campus placement. Some internships are given which are out of state too.
Placement Experience :
The placement in College is quite good. Many Companies come for Placement like Infosys, Deloitte, MCL, Tata, etc. Students from the 3rd semester become eligible for Campus Placement. The average package differs with Companies average overall being 6 lpa and the highest package upto 11lpa. The percentage of students getting placed is about 90%. My plan is to become an entrepreneur after completing my degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is very low compared to other colleges. 40 Thousand Rupees for Studies and 40000 for Hostel and Mess per year. There is no fee hike as I know in these 2 years of my college and the fees is very low. Many Government given Scholarships are given to Under prevleged students.
Campus Life :
The annual Fest held is the Technical Fest Samavesh and The cultural fest Vassaunt and they are held in the month of February. Other than that there are many events like TED X, E- Summit, and other Cultural events other than these fests. The college has the largest library in Odisha which has books and journals of every type. Classrooms have blackboards and Fan and labs have Air conditioners. There is a field for Football Cricket Basketball and Volleyball. Other Indoor sports are provided in Hostel Campus with Badminton Court inside the Hostel. Television is also provided in the common rooms. There is room to Practice Singing and Dancing as well. There are many Clubs Technical like Robotics, E cell, Idea and Innovation Cell, SAE, IEEE,Enigma and Cultural Clubs like Souls(Singing),Vibranz(Dancing), and Emotica(Dramatics).
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel Rooms are clean and they provide beds for 4 students in each room. There are 2 3 fans in each room and a WiFi connection is provided for each and every room. The meal Quality is good in the Hostels and every month there is 2 fest where different kind of Items are given inside the Hostels. There are night Canteens in the Hostels and the menu of the mess is quite good and healthy. The registration process is simple go to the Hostels show the payment receipts and done. If we rented then also the locality is good and Hotels and Restaurants provide food Everyday and they are quite good too. There is availability of many Restaurants nearby for Breakfast and Snacks too.
