Remarks :

AEC is probably the best engineering college in Assam after IIT Guwahati and NIT Silchar. This college will be good for you if you have messed up your JEE exams and if you are planning to get a job in PSUs. NRL, OIL, ONGC, AGCL and many PSUs visit AEC during the placement time and offer good packages.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course Curriculum is really very good, choosing ECE, I am currently getting to learn more than what I expected. 80% of the professors are PhD holders form reputed Institutions and rest have done MTech from IITs. CIEs are held held between midsems and endsems to test the level where we students are at.

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 44000 per year

Placement Experience :

Students and eligible for campus placements in the 4th year. Companies like ONGC, OIL, NRL visit for core subjects, and Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini visit for tech jobs role.

College Events :

There are as many as 14 clubs till date which includes Photography, Public Speaking, Chess and many more. Pyrokinesis, also known as Pyro is the annual tech-cultural fest of AEC. It is a four day long event held during the end of February.

Campus Life :

AEC has a great infrastructure. Has almost 3 football fields, indoor rooms for Table Tennis, chess and others. It also has basketball courts, volleyball courts etc. It also has athletics track and gym as well. It has a very good library and labs with well equipped instruments.

Hostel Facilities :

Though I am currently staying in a PG nearby AEC, I am planning to shift to hostels very soon. Seniors in AEC are very helpful in every aspect, be it studies, motivating juniors, giving life qualities which really are an important aspect of a happy and successful life.

Admission :

To get in AEC, you will have to give CEE exam of Assam, in which if your rank is somewhere near 500-600, you will get in. And if you want branches like CSE, Mechanical etc, then you have to get a rank of from 1-200.

NIT Silchar - Honest Review

Placement Experience:

The placements of this college were very good until last year but last year due to decline in tech jobs and the burst of the IT boom , the placements have declined to a significant amount and there is no hope of recovery anytime soon . As far as I have learned from my seniors, placements are not very satisfactory.

Entrance Preview:

IIT-JEE 2016 , AIR 6629 , IIT guwahati is a college. It has its name and fame. So i chose it because it has all the facilities like co curricular and has a beautiful campus to stay at.

Placement Experience:

The placement and job opportunities in the campus placements are good as most of the graduates get a decent job before leaving the campus . The jobs offered are mainly in the non core sectors as the craze to do core jobs has tremendously went down in last few years.
