Remarks

Overall IEM is a very good place for B.Tech studies. The management is good and has all the powers.

Entrance Preview

I joined IEM through WBJEE in. 2015. My rank was 1829. I opted IEM, because it is the best private college of West Bengal.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course and syllabus of IEM is controlled and maintained by the board MAKAUT. MAKAUT manages the syllabus, exams, holidays of all the college's under it. IEM also comes under MAKAUT. So, it follows the syllabus, exam pattern of MAKAUT. The syllabus is good , interesting and informative as includes both theoretical based knowledges and also practical based knowledges. It helps us and always make us interested.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides many opportunities for students for internships. The teachers provides us with their recommendations for our internships.

Placement Experience

4

The placements of IEM is very good as every year almost every student get placed. Some of the students also got two to three job offers. It's really great. Some of the companies that comes for placements are MICROSOFT , TCS, CTS, WIPRO, IBM, TECH MAHINDRA, CAPAGEMINI, SANKALP SEMICONDUCTORS etc.

College Events

5

There are many events celebrated in IEM. Our technical fest is named INNOVATIA, which happens every year during January. We have cultural fest which happens every year in February. These fests are really awesome as we gets to show and learn about new innovations, extra talents , out of box thinking.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible as every student can manage for it. For B.Tech course, the fee structure is Rs70,000 during admission time and they about Rs 40,000 per semester. We have some extra expenses such as registration fees and exam fees which cost up to Rs 1500.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides loan facility with the banks. It provides many bank links through which students can avail education loans at low interest rates. The college provides few scholarships also.

Campus Life

4

The campus life at IEM is awesome as it helps students to make new friends and enjoy life. The gender ratio is even as even number of girls are there as boys. We have extracurricular activities, debates such as IEM MUN, ROBOTICS WORKSHOP etc. Overall, its an awesome campus.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel provided by the college is good and affordable. The facilities are good as well as the food provided is also good. The quality of the food is good. The hostel rooms are of sharing, but have few rooms. So some students prefer to live in PG. The average monthly expense is Rs 6500.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of IEM is good as many of them regularly visits IEM and inspire others for doing good.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is good. As, the MAKAUT conducts the exams. The exam structure consists of mid-semester exams and semester exams. So, it is a continuation evaluation process for all the students. I help us to stay connected with the studies and learning.

Faculty

4.5

The facility of IEM is very good. They are really helpful and always motivating. The inspire each and every student to do their best. Their subject wise knowledge is good as they also teach us the basic of everything. They are always ready to help us whenever we are in trouble or facing some problem in our academic or project parts. They also organizes many events for us to show our talent and potential.

Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.
