Ms Ramaiah college honest review

Remarks :

It was amongest the top 10 colleges in the city and I had heard a lot about it. The infrastructure was great, had great faculty and more importantly, it was very close to my house. The seniors were also very supportive. There was no ragging at all but all were too kind and helpful. The admission process was also very fast and did not require a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had a deep interest in understanding microbes and their evolution so chose this course of BSc Biotechnology. Faculty was class and there were about 40 faculty members against 200 odd students. The teaching method was advanced as they provided necessary learning materials and also repeated the topic is necessary. Unit tests and viva were conducted at least twice a month so that we were well prepared with topics for mains.

Placement Experience :

Placements are the best part about MS Ramaiah college. Every student gets multiple opportunities to attend interviews. Many companies come for placements in final year degree and atleast 20% of candidates are chosen.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Fees were a constant and varied stream to stream and it was very reasonable. The college was providing apt materials and learnings based on the fees they were demanding. There was no scholarship offered, but it was great that a lot of overseas and Northeast students came to study as they felt this is the best university to shape up their life.

Campus Life :

Ramaiah is known for its cultural fests and it is open for all. They conduct various educational and recreational activities and learning seminars. I personally have attended and volunteered most of them. The faculty ensured everyone participated and learns something new every time. Classrooms were clean and tidy. The library was spacious and had over 20000 books across different streams, also had fiction and non-fiction.

Interview Experience :

There was no written test or interview for admission process. It was purely based on one's merit. I remember Shakuntala Samuelson was our principal when I joined I. 2015 and she explained to me the process so elaborately and with so much confidence and conviction. She made myself and my dad feel so comfortable mad guaranteed that I will be a better and improved person when I graduate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college curriculum is designed in such a way that it helped me a lot improving my English and skills. This would help me more in my further carrier. I learnt many skills through the ignitors program whkch5is conducted each year and this college focuses more on all round development.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to tell that syllabus and curriculum they have is student friendly and doesn't give much pressure or torcher to students. Even this follows in the labs where labs are well equipped. I feel a bit less focus on industrial applications

Placement Experience:

We do have campus placements in our college. From 5th sem everybody is eligible to appear for campus placements. As far as I know there were Walmart,Paycheck, aceture, sony and many more. Almost about 30 to 50 students from each department get selected in placements. Not really sure about the percentage but somewhere in 60/100. My plans after the degree is to clear SSB or do my MCA .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Postives: - 3 major subjects covered within 3 years. - Options to add other preffered subject along with the main course. - Ability to divert to another field for Master's. Negatives: - Less time of study reduces the level of knowledge in each of the 3 individual subjects. - Bad combinations that have no relation to the other subjects. Summary: The course very well prepares us for the real world and further higher academic pursuits. Reducing the subjects to a dual major would be better for in depth study or increasing the time period to 4 years would also be great. More of practicals would be nice as it provides more practice for real life scenarios. The exams are difficult but the notes provided by the teacher in class and online makes the learning experience so much better.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum for BSc is simply the extended version of 11th and 12th standard portions in the first year. It includes the same concepts and the teaching method is rather ordinary and boring and doesn't seem to focus on making the students live the subject but is rather focussed on marks and other upcoming exams. A teacher kept insisting us to do certain problems skipping the others considering the factory that it is very important for a exam after UG. She also stated that everyone are most likely to take up teaching as a job after this which shows how narrow minded and shallow the opinions and minds of the teachers are. This amounts for a greater level of discouragement.
