  • Location: This is located towards the outskirts of Bangalore.
  • Credibility: This is an upcoming College so it is still on the verge of reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Postives: - 3 major subjects covered within 3 years. - Options to add other preffered subject along with the main course. - Ability to divert to another field for Master's. Negatives: - Less time of study reduces the level of knowledge in each of the 3 individual subjects. - Bad combinations that have no relation to the other subjects. Summary: The course very well prepares us for the real world and further higher academic pursuits. Reducing the subjects to a dual major would be better for in depth study or increasing the time period to 4 years would also be great. More of practicals would be nice as it provides more practice for real life scenarios. The exams are difficult but the notes provided by the teacher in class and online makes the learning experience so much better.

Campus Life :

Campus Life, Campus Life is great as it has a very vibrant campus with lush green atmosphere. Clubs, The college has a lot of clubs like KCDC, YRC, Music Academy, Dance Academy, EIC, NCC, etc. Infrastructure, The main campus in Kothanur consists of 4 blocks, a badminton court, football court, basketball court, more than 10 auditoriums, 3 main food courts with over 10+ restaurants and cafes, etc. Events, A lot of cultuaral and sport events are conducted by the college and other universties in which the college actively participates. Libraries, The college has 3 main books with over 15,000 books ful of knowledge and information. Technology, The classrooms are occupied with projectors. There also over 10 computer labs fully equiped with computers and the required softwares. There are also many other labs like the forensic lab, physics lab, math lab, psycology lab , etc.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel Facilities, I donot recommend the college hostel at all due to the time restricitions and poor treatment towards the students. The rooms are 3 sharing and 2 sharing with attached bathroom. There is lift access to all floors and other facilities like washing machine, security cameras, 24/7 security guards etc. Despite all this the hostel management's atittude towards the students are very bad and rude. An important point is that these hostel are not directly under the college managemtn but only affiliated to college, which means the college does not have complete authority towards the hostel and its activities. Mess, Hostel Mess is only average and not that great, but there are many other mess and restaurants that provide monthly mess facility nearby. Some of them are Panoor restaurant, Bombay spice, Malabar mess, amma mess, apni ras, etc. Hostel, The hostels recommended by the college are very expesive and try to squeze the money out of the students. But there are many other PG hostels nearby hostel like Livesta, Stanza living, etc. Rented Accomodation, There are many rentable appartments and flats around the college. Average rents are provided below, 1RK - 4k to 10k 1BHK - 10k to 12k 2BHK - 10k to 25k 3 BHK - Above 25k

Admission :

Admission Process: 1) Submit the application. 2) Application is scrutinized by the admission team of KJC. 3) An Interview counceling is organised online by the admission team. 4) The applicants are allotted to the right courses according to their marks and performance in the interview. 5) Fees for the first year is payed as part of confirming your admission in the college. 6) Provisional admission is provided to the selected applicants via the registered mail ID. 7) Upon joining the college the documents requirewd are to be submitted for confirming the admission. 8) Final admission is ensured now. I applied to Chandigarh University, SRM University, Ayoor Mar Thoma College & R V College Bengaluru. Out of all these colleges KJC had the highest ranking, the lowest fees per year and the best placement oppurtuities which were the main factors I accounted for during the admission period.

Faculty :

Faculty, The faculty of this college is very well experienced and has years worth of knowledge. They are higly efficient and always approachable. Although all may not have similar characters as described they sure do meet the standard requirements of any college lecturer. Course Struture, Most of the Bachelors courses of this college are of 3 yrs and Masters courses are of 2 yrs, except for a few courses like LLB. Until last year the courses were under the NEP (National Education Policy) but from this year the college is following SEP (State Education Policy). Also all of the dual major degree programs are converted to triple major from 2024 as per the directions of Bengaluru North University. Exam Pattern, There are 2 exams conducted per semester. 1 Mid-Semester Exam and 1 End-Semester Exam. These exams consists of Both theory and practical. Marking Scheme, For Mid-Sem, Theory is of 30 marks Practical is of 20 marks For End-Sem, Theory is of 70 marks Practical is of 30 marks

Night Life :

There are many gyms within a 1km radius of the campus. There are also various restaurants and cafes. There are few party cafes, turfs and gaming arenas as well. The college hostels have a 9pm curfew for boys and 8pm curfew for girls. Although this varies from hostel to hostel, this is a standard timeline for most of the hostels and PG's around the area. Famous hangout spots include RKC, Games and food cafe, Lickies, Teayos, Smoke Meister, etc. The locality is safe for walks and roaming around until 10pm after which there is strict police checking.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to tell that syllabus and curriculum they have is student friendly and doesn't give much pressure or torcher to students. Even this follows in the labs where labs are well equipped. I feel a bit less focus on industrial applications

Placement Experience:

We do have campus placements in our college. From 5th sem everybody is eligible to appear for campus placements. As far as I know there were Walmart,Paycheck, aceture, sony and many more. Almost about 30 to 50 students from each department get selected in placements. Not really sure about the percentage but somewhere in 60/100. My plans after the degree is to clear SSB or do my MCA .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum for BSc is simply the extended version of 11th and 12th standard portions in the first year. It includes the same concepts and the teaching method is rather ordinary and boring and doesn't seem to focus on making the students live the subject but is rather focussed on marks and other upcoming exams. A teacher kept insisting us to do certain problems skipping the others considering the factory that it is very important for a exam after UG. She also stated that everyone are most likely to take up teaching as a job after this which shows how narrow minded and shallow the opinions and minds of the teachers are. This amounts for a greater level of discouragement.
