Remarks :

It has a good reputation in Tamil Nadu under Anna University B.Arch syllabus. They were on the top list in counselling list in TNEA. Great hostel facility when compared to other Architecture colleges in Tamil Nadu.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This is a creative field where we can explore designing from small scale products to large scale cities. There are qualified faculty with faculty: student to bring 1:30 to 40. Review of design submissions and projects are done regularly based on the project size. Exam subjects are a bit difficult but easy and relatable to learn and understand.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are based on the student's skill and what exact field they are more into. For example, few firms how students/interns based on their talent in specific fields. Students are expected to develop their talents and skills to get selected at a good firm.

Placement Experience :

After completing the course we can either opt of masters in architecture or some specialization in either designing or architecture itself. It is better to join a firm and start practical job experience for at least 2-3 years and then do PG.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Academic fees under merit will be 75000. Hostel fees depend and vary from 100000 to 200000. Internships, job opportunities are completely dependent on student skills and how they progress through, from the first year.

Campus Life :

This campus is bit far from Chennai and thus becomes a huge disadvantage. But still, staying remote and isolated from harsh City traffic, helps concentrating more on designing and what we are passionate on.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel quality is far more better than most architecture colleges in Tamil Nadu, but still it is not that good. But decent enough. Food quality is not bad but menu card being repeated every week makes us feel bored of eating the same again and again.

Interview Experience :

Written exam called NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture) is must for admission in any architecture college in India. Based on the rank in NATA and cumulative percentage from 12th PCM, merit system takes place.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very application based and hence very creatively stimulating. Architecture is best done when practiced and hence the college can only broadly address all the aspects of the practice. Teaching of the concepts required immense experience and knowledge and should be done with a lot of case studies for easier understanding. The exams have good intervals between them giving ample time to prepare.

Placement Experience:

Fourth year of architecture course is completely for internship in architectural firms around the world. This offers how practically the practice of Architects helps in construction. Thus we have some limited campus interviews after final year with some good salary packages. Architecture is a professional course which we can start a firm after getting a licence from central authority and also work as a junior in any firm all over the world. Every one of us get placed with our own involvement in getting knowledge. Starting packages of around two lakhs per annum.

Admission:

I got admission in the college by getting a minimum of 50% marks in my higher secondary education with mathematics as a compulsory subject. I even gave National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) exam with a score of 80 out of 200.

Placement Experience:

Th college does not provide any placement or internship programs but it trains the interested students to be confident enough and to be ready for every interview. The student can be a Landscape architect, Estates manager etc and can get a good stipend.

Remarks:

My director is someone i HIGHLY look upto, one of my reasons to love this college. He is a man i keep in a very high position of respect for his knowledge and the person he is. The college may not cater to your cultural like any other college, it may not have a HUGE campus, or a fancy canteen, but u will be eternally grateful for the people you meet here, the friends you make , the teaches who guide you and the college itself. Its location is a HUGE plus point, in the heart of the city! It becomes a fond memory once you leave so every institution has its good and bad qualities, its what you make of it that will define your experience, and in my final year i can tell you, there is no other place id rather be.

College life is memorable for everyone. For us it was fun as well as educative. One because of our course curriculum and other because of the management's approach in handling the students.
