Remarks :

My director is someone i HIGHLY look upto, one of my reasons to love this college. He is a man i keep in a very high position of respect for his knowledge and the person he is. The college may not cater to your cultural like any other college, it may not have a HUGE campus, or a fancy canteen, but u will be eternally grateful for the people you meet here, the friends you make , the teaches who guide you and the college itself. Its location is a HUGE plus point, in the heart of the city! It becomes a fond memory once you leave so every institution has its good and bad qualities, its what you make of it that will define your experience, and in my final year i can tell you, there is no other place id rather be.

Entrance Preview :

I narrowed down what i did not want to do first, i was quite clear about that i had a flair for creativity and an interest in anything to do with hands on, art, and travel! Architecture was the natural choice i had to prepare for my NATA entrance exam. It is a MUST for you to enter into architecture college. if i am correct a minimum of 80 to pass. any score above 100 is considered good measi is the best college for architecture, in south india so there was never really any other option.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Measi follows Anna University Regulations so it is well structured. Its a 5 year course. So a total of 10 semesters each Semester you have 7 subjects. Design being the main important subject. These subjects are either Studio, Theory or Theory cum Studio type of subjects every Semester you have 6 papers to write, and 2-3 External Crit that happens the staff are well equipped, trained and some are even our very own passed out alumini very helpful and guide you right way to understand and prepare for your semester papers and design projects.

Internships Opportunities :

As an architecture student your 4th year, entirely is for internship (practical training) You will have to prepare a portfolio and apply to architecture firms anywhere in the country or abroad (but you have to do one semester atleast in india) once you are accepted you might have to attend an interview or they may spot on hire you. You go for your practical training and between semester you have to come back to college for a final external review just to show them what work you did at office college does not call firms over to hire you! It will be on your own merit. but not to worry, everyone always gets a job somewhere. You have to start early for the bigger firms you staff and seniors will already have contacts at various firms, if you request them they might be able to help you, put in a good word as well.

Placement Experience :

I am still in the final year now so i am not too sure about this a lot of my seniors have left for masters and return to start their own practice. But from what i can understand is, there are a lot of opportunities since i did do an internship for a year. Everyone always needs a designer, so no worries about job opportunities.

College Events :

Unfortunately we don't have any cultural's as such but you have a LARGE opportunities of competitions for architects that our college keeps pushing us to attend or participate in we have many lectures and guest speakers come in for giving presentations besides this, we do have two important college trips. That is both academic as well as fun one being a rurals trip that happens in the 2nd year. A detailed study on a selected rural area and another North India tour , that happens after you return from your internship period.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Compared to a lot of other universities in Chennai. I personally feel it i feasible, for such a top institution it is subjective though. So it cant really be told. It depends also on what seat you get, if you come through counseling it will be cheaper than through any quota obviously.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I am really not sure about this you may have to contact the college personally and ask them they might be able to give you more information, for anything related to fee structure and such.

Campus Life :

The gender ratio is quite equal our college is a mulsim minority college so you get to meet a lot of new people from different cities and background. Majority will be from the same city as you, but i have met a lot of people from Dubai, Muscat, Kerala and such. Its a good way to make new friends and contacts. We have a huge sports ground that i shared by the other campus, its predominantly for the boys there is a mosque abbuting our college, Friday prayers bring in a lot of crowd into our college for the same.

Hostel Facilities :

There is only boys hostel, next to our college along with the new college campus! You have to pre book the rooms before. I have heard the rooms and spaces are kept quite clean. The bonds my friends have made in the hostel are amazing they spend a lot of time with their seniors learning new software's or model making. Everyone is always helping each other out girls have found PGs close by or take an apartment and live together. The most popular hostel for them that's the closest is the Ethiraj Hostel.

Alumni/Alumna :

Your seniors are the best people you will have in this college our college is quite small, so everyone knows everyone. And since its only an architecture college. EVERYONE and anyone are willing to help when i first joint, i was lost, but once i got to know my seniors, they helped me so much, i helped them finish assignments and others submissions and learnt a lot myself.

Exam Structure :

Anna university syllabus, like every other exams we study and take the exam personally i don't take too much stress onto it since design is majorly important once we are done with that We are little more calm taking our semester papers our final Crit for design happens well in advance of our semester exams. After which you have study holidays to prepare and then take your exams.

Admission :

You can enter through anna university councelling, if not there are other quotas you can apply through. College starts giving out application forms a few months before the academic year starts! You will be prepared to attend your application form and the interview as soon as you have received your board marks and your NATA scores.

Faculty :

Our faculty, have a combination of both old and new staff. They both have different experiences to teach you and guide you will definitely learn something new from each and every one of them. Our Director Mr.Altaf Ahmed and all our senior design panel are AMAZING and they are the best in the city for any kind of guidance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion for design was started during my school, then I cleared my NATA exam and joined in CRESCENT SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE. The faculties are more approachable and friendly, they will clear our doubts and gave us more exposure to practical knowledge also. That really helped us during our field practice.

Placement Experience:

Architecture field doesn't depend on on-campus placement usually but we did have an internship semester which was a forerunner. Since several great architects were invited to be a part of the panel for our intermediate reviews and viva voce examination we were able to gain contacts. Those experience helped us during the process of seeking employment after graduation.
