Remarks :

There are several positives and negatives. But nothing that deters your personal growth in the college.

Entrance Preview :

XAT, Xavier's aptitude test that takes place on the first weekend of the year three sections with different cut offs for BM and HR.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The first year is a comprehensive mix of essential courses from all functions. The second year gets you to pick specialization courses and the curriculum of each course is very well thought of. There also is an option in the fifth term to take up a research project (or dissertation) which allows you the option to do research and publish papers.

Internships Opportunities :

Student run Placecom median stipend as per placement report on the website is INR60000 top recruiters from all functions appear for the process and the list is available on the college website.

Placement Experience :

That of a top 5 B-school in India you have recruiters from the best in the industry. In each function you will see industry leaders coming to recruit. The pay packages are high since most companies open leadership roles which typically include a one year management trainee stint followed by a specific role.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Very expensive ranges from 17-20 lac for the flagship course over a duration of two years. Loans for the same however are rather easily available and the interest plan is very nominal however, it is quite high and at par with IIM-A and B just a shade lower than that of ISB.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Several in-house and sponsored scholarships are available. Student loans are easily available at sbi branch at Xlri itself without collateral.

Campus Life :

XLRI is that one place where you get to experience everything of everything. A great course, brilliant faculty, good gender diversity(which is popular in pop folklore) and of course and great entry into the management realm. There wouldn't be one thing that I would change about it. Being in a small city like Jamshedpur, Xl is about all you have to yourself for 2 years. And it growns on to you instantly.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are above average. There are 4 hostels in use currently for the flagship courses. The newest one which is Fr.mcgrath hostel is state of the art and the other three in the old campus are the ones which have seen every xler go through. TFEMR is actually the oldest management school hostel and is lovely to stay in.

Alumni/Alumna :

Xlri has a full blown alumni network and a dedicated committee that takes care of alum relations. It is very structured and Xl alums support each other as much as they can.

Exam Structure :

An average course lasts for about 3 months and contains a mid term and end term this besides the several quizzes and projects that the course demands. This is probably how it is for all top B schools in the country the learning value is average to immense depending on the courses you opt for.

Admission :

XAT- pen and paper based GD-PI you need to clear sectional cut offs to go through each of the shortlist of the BM and HR courses there is also a GK section which is unique to XAT then you appear for a GD Round usually in a panel of 10 candidates and have about 20 minutes for it after that is a personal interview for everyone since GD is non-eliminatory.

Faculty :

Everyone is highly qualified. The pedagogy ranges from above avg to excellent depending on courses you pick the course is interspersed with quizzes and mid term exams that each faculty member tells you at the start of the course. There of course at any point of time can happen a surprise quiz.

Placement Experience:

There is just one word for placements - superb. The name XLRI is a brand in itself and recruiters are going to line up and fight for a slot to hire from campus. So placement should be the least of anyone's worries while visiting. The best names in management consulting such as McKinsey, BCG, Bain as well as in Investment Banking such as JPMC and Goldman Sachs visit every year. Be it FMCGs, fintech firms, product management roles, anything, and everything is available. Not even a single student goes unplaced. The median and average packages are both close to 24 lacs per annum.

Remarks:

The college premise was safe and with well-behaved people and students. The teachers and all the non-teaching staff were also helpful to us. I still remember when I was in my first year all my seniors were there to support me especially during exam time and this thing was good about this college.

Remarks:

The campus component is one of the most important components of this course and i believe it should be more than a week to give more time for students to interact with each other and take away the college life.
