Rendezvous with BVP

Remarks :

One of the best thing about BVIMR is the location. You wont get such a huge campus in the city premises. The metro exits and the entry of BVIMR starts. You get good food joints around. Get a great Library! And a lush green campus to explore,In terms of studies, it is an average college to be.

Entrance Preview :

I cleared the B MAT. And scored 200.It is considered to be a good college in the city. One of the colleges which gives you the degree of Masters in Business Administration. You can apply via CAT score and the B Mat as well. After the first cut is clear, you get a call for the Personal Interview. The rounds are : A Group Discussion which does the negative shortlisting and the last round is a Personal Interview.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum completely suffices the need of the corporate world. They provide you ample platforms to proof yourself, to refine and groom.A lot of guests lectures were arranged. We also went for Industrial visits, which i felt a waste of time.We were involved in a lot of Clubs like the HR Club, Sports Club, Marketing Club, Finance Club.A lot of quizzes and competition took place, quite often which always gave you a platform to become presentable and gain confidence when addressing public.

Internships Opportunities :

The internships are not too great. Dont expect stipend at all!If by chance you an internship from college's end.the professors may help you just out of there generosity but there is no guarantee of internship.

Placement Experience :

Honestly, placements are not extremely great.Especially in HR, its difficult.Students in Marketing and Finance do get placed.Companies like - Cargill, Capital IQ, HDFC Bank etc.The main sectors would be Banking, Automobiles, FMCG, Manufacturing companies.

College Events :

Huge number of events are celebrated, a lot of Activities are planned. From Ad Mad Quiz to cooking competitions. Paristithi - one of the annual conference held, wherein we present our brief research papers.Annual Day - a big day, they make it all big.Feast - are a must for any and every colleges.A Language festival is also held.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The Fee Structure is expensive! And they levy fines if you are not paying the fees on time.Though just to give comfort, they have there bank branch inside the college premises. The Hostel Fee for girls is not that bad, though you can easily find PG around.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No, there are no scholarships which are offered. The Loan facility is available, you can always avail that. The finance department is helpful. The process might be a little tough, specially because all the bank staff are Marathi, so a language barrier is also there.

Campus Life :

The campus life was extremely happening! A lot of events were planned, there were clubs which were operated by students, conferences, research papers. The CRC was an extremely active body which took care of the corporate placements.A lot of guest lectures were planned, weekly. All festivals were celebrated. It was a great experience!

Hostel Facilities :

Honestly, i have very limited idea about the hostel mess and rooms.Though what i know from the experiences of my friends, the rooms are good. They have enough space and hygienic. Also, they are extremely secured. No non-hostel girl is allowed to enter the premises, which i think is extremely good.

Alumni/Alumna :

The BVIMR Alumni Network is called as United Brethren. Its a big community and very active.Interactive communication with alumni around the world offers an attractive array of benefits to both you and us and we are excited to enter into this new relationship with you. While the Alumni Association has various means of communication, the Internet increases our accessibility.

Exam Structure :

The semester system was followed. And within the semester there were two internals that were held. The final results were a mix of the exams and the presentation plus the attendance and the involvement of any student in the activities or conferences.Exams are not chilled out! Ever!We had exams generally within a week.

Faculty :

The college faculty is great, not just they are highly qualified (most of them are Phd but also are good human beings, which i think is extremely important, so that they are able help the students to choose there career's wisely. The total number of Professors is approximately 50.All from different spheres and academic backgrounds.

Placement Experience:

Final placements start in the month of November. Many MNCs, startups, foreign companies and companies from different sectors visits the campus for summer internships and final placements as well. Placement activities take place in 2 phases. Profiles offered by the companies are at par the positions offered to IIM and other B School graduates. Almost 100% of the students are placed every year. Highest placement goes up to 32 lakhs, the average is 22 lakhs and the median package is 20 lakhs. The figures are almost the same for all the specializations that DMS offers. There are enormous opportunities for students of each specialization. Overall placement scenario at DMS is good.

Remarks:

The institute has the one of the best library, where I can find the different books for their studies. But not all books that are issued form the institute is relevant to syllabus so I have to purchase the books. The institute has the online portal that make me comfort in my studies and I can also go for the last year question papers from the portal.
