1. Best Faculty 2. Regular classes 3. Professor's are very approachable and caring towards students individual improvement. 4. Discipline 5. I took the course for my love of literature 6. I came to this institution because Loreto has one of the best faculties in Kolkata for English Honours.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our faculty is very good. I can't choose one professor over another, they all are very caring towards their students and master of their own genre. Our syllabus is very updated according to the latest guidelines provided by Calcutta university. But if I have to choose one professor from my Honours department whose teaching I love the most that will be SGB Ma'am, because of her strategic teaching along with beautiful explanations. She also shows us movies, songs and paintings related to our topics for greater exposure which makes learning more extensive and interesting.

Class Size : 30

Placement Experience :

I haven't had any encounter regarding placements. I am just in 2 nd year, English honours. But from what I have heard our college's placement cell is good.

College Events :

I love my campus life. The break periods are best to hangout in the canteen our the lush green grounds of our college. I am a part of the Eastern Culture Society of our college and I enjoy being a part of it as a music lover and singer.

Campus Life :

Our library is probably the best open library any college can have. The campus is fullbof natural beauty. We have a medium size computer lab with almost 20 PC's in it. Sports facilities are also taken care of abundantly.

Hostel Facilities :

Our college has a small hostel arrangement for only Catholics. So my hostel is not a college hostel. I live in YWCA hostel, Esplanade. Our hostel has lots of problems but you can still sustain there.

Hostel Fee : INR 7500 per year

Placement Experience:

Many more placements are available after completion of the 8th semester. Many reputable companies are taken interviews for final year students like - CIPLA, Mefopharm, Macleods, Pfizer, Alkem for production, QA, QC department. Nestle, Tablet India are taken interviews for medical representatives. Wipro, Cognizant is taken an interview for the pharmacovigilance department.

Hardship ends someday after Placements.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placement after the 6th semester onwards.A total of 98 companies visited our college out of which they offered 120 offers and 86 students applied for placements out of which 78 are selected in the CSE branch. The selection was 90 percent. Average pay was 4-5LPA and the highest was 25LPA CTC in India. After getting my degree i planned for higher studies and placement in a MNC.

ItÕs one of the oldest Bschools in Kolkata. I love the infrastructure of the college. ItÕs known for its faculties and placement. IÕve known a lot of students from this college. I visited the college and the people were really professional and helpful.

For eligibility in this course a student must be passed in 10+2 in any stream from WBCHSE/ CBSE/ISC with minimum of 45%

Placement Experience:

It's a part of course curriculum to do a practical training once with the help of Dept. of Tourism Govt. of West Bengal. Which basically to prepare us for great jobs. Further the placement cell itself also helps us a lot practically to prepare us for training for placements and provides career guidence to us.

Remarks:

Nothing is perfect in the whole universe. There were loopholes in the college administration and there were a few, not-so-good guys, who did mistreat with students but thanks to the higher authorities, those were never a permanent issue.
