My Review

Remarks :

It is an average college. I don't expect much. If you are looking for academic excellence and placements dont come here.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum consists of mechanical engineering syllabus. It has thermodynamics, theory of machines, material science, strength of materials, fluid dynamics etc. Exam structure involves internal exam and an external exam from the university. It is not research driven. The syllabus was outdated.

Placement Experience :

Placements were poor. Getting internship is the duty of individual students. College doesn't help in internships or placements.

College Events :

On technical front there was vipanchika and genesis. On cultural front there was ignis and festival celebration like onam, Christmas. The college was more academically oriented. Didn't give much importance to fests. The budget was also less allocated for every fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is different for different students. Since I had reservation and merit, my fees was less. If I ahd stayed in hostel, then hostel fees would have been free. But since I was homesick back then, I used the bus service from my home and we had to pay the bus fee. The entire fees for me was less than 1 lac INR.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I got merit because of my rank in the entrance exam and I had reservation because my caste comes in OBC category. Other backward communities. And I had to pay only bus fee and small amount of the institute fee and exam fee.

Campus Life :

So gender ratio is skewed in my branch which is mechanical engineering. But as a whole there were equal numbers of males and females. The campus life was good in terms of friendship and culture. Extracurricular was happening once in a bluemoon. Sports happened very rarely. Mostly academic was given importance.

Hostel Facilities :

No. I have seen hostel rooms of my friends. It is single occupancy with a common shared bathroom. It is not spacious. I was homesick and I never used hostel. I used their bus service. Heard that hostel wardens were very strict.

Alumni/Alumna :

No they aren't helpful. No one is in touch. Dont know anything about the alumni network. Alumni network is a myth.

Admission :

My aptitude in maths and physics. I wrote the kerala engineering entrance exam of 2011 and got a rank of 4300. I got admission on merit. The entrance exam happens after 12th board exams. The syllabus is of 12th class. I went for an entrance coaching institute.

Faculty :

The faculty has a well versed knowledge on the subject. But there are certain faculties who are not even bothered about the students. I learnt more from books rather than from professors. Some of the faculty attend only few classes. The college was strict in terms of discipline.

The students become eligible for the campus placements in the 6th semester. The average students getting placed in the mechanical department are about 30%. My plan after completing my mechanical engineering degree is to go for masters in business administration

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum contains a vast area of nursing aspects and they include OSKI as a new component of the nursing curriculum which prepares as well enough to face the job interviews ahead. But the time limit is so short that we find it difficult to complete the syllabus on time. As the syallabus has changed to semester system we are expected to write exams more frequently but that is good as it helps as to improve our writing skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture is a tough and time taking course, the syllabus fine in the first three years but later on it becomes hectic. Maybe the syllabus can be reduced and I feel that five years is too long for architecture degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course mainly because of the job opportunities. There is plenty of teaching and non-teaching staff in the college. All the teaching staff has Mastered nursing and all are very talented teachers. The teaching method is lecturing and av aids are also used by the teachers like projectors. The exams are conducted after the completion of each unit. It's an average tough exam to score good marks. The only problem is that exams will be conducted daily and the personal behavior of some staff may vary from person to person.

No campus placement is provided by college because it is a government college. After getting degree I planned to practice in Kerala high court and also wants to attempt judicial service examination. I also planned to join LLM at central University or in Canada. In Canada there are many opportunities for LLB graduates.
