Course Curriculum Overview :

A three year, full time, on-campus course is indeed a long procedure which is a must in case of Ph.D. in agriculture. The curriculum is wholesome and at the same time immense focus is given to the examination structure too.

Placement Experience :

The opportunity to get placed at an esteemed institution after completing Ph.D. in Agriculture is very likely. Big companies, research institutions and many other renowned institutions visit the campus to hire students.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is justified if compared to the quality of education imparted at Institute of Pulses Research - [IIPR], Kanpur. It is very nominal which makes it affordable for any student who wishes to pursue this.

Campus Life :

Cultural evenings, fests, visits, trips etcetera are organised by the college to inculcate a feeling of belongingness in the students. These activities are solely organised by the students hence giving them some time to relax.

Hostel Facilities :

Kanpur caters to students from all over the country and hence there are a lot of accommodation options for a student. I opted for the hostel facility and I've to say that it is very inexpensive as it costs only ?10,500 per year.

Admission :

A Ph.D. in Agriculture has always been my dream. So, when I found about Indian Institute of Pulses Research - [IIPR], Kanpur that offers the same course it felt like a dream come true. It has the easiest and most simplified admission procedure.

Faculty :

The teachers of my department are dignitaries. They have significantly contributed to the field of agriculture and it is of utmost importance to us. They are kind, helpful and cooperative and therefore, they make studying fun.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The subject of Biotechnology is of great importance and is very new and interesting too. The subjects offered are relevant and insightful as they offer knowledge on all aspects of the field. The curriculum is in correspondence to the syllabus of entrance exams like GATE making the preparation easier. We have exams every 4 months. The schedule is decent but there are lesser gaps than required between exams. The practical exams are sometimes conducted in the gaps between the exams.

From seven-semester, the student is eligible for placement. Cognizant, Accenture, tcs, etc. The average package is 3 lakhs and 3.5 lakhs and the highest package will be 42 lakhs. 89% of students get placement. After getting the degree I will apply for CDS and other government jobs.
