Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum was tough but very interesting. It comprises of six semester. The duration of the course was around three years. The curriculum includes course work, thesis, viva, publications and teaching assistantship.

Placement Experience :

Our university does not provide placement opportunities for the Research students. But the job opportunities was very good in both private and government sector. After completing my course, i gave interviews in many colleges and universities. Finally i got a job in a Government college as a lecturer with very good package. I was very happy and satisfied with my job and packages.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure was quite feasible for all the students. The total fees of the ph.d course was around 12150 rupees which includes registration fees, library fees, semester fees. My per semester fees was around 1000 rupees. As i opted for hostel accommodation, i also had to pay the hostel fees which was not included in the total fees.

Campus Life :

The university was very good in organizing extracurricular activities. Many activities like celebration of Education day, Yoga day, literary camps, Theatre camps, poetry events are organized. Besides these, the university also gives importance on social events like panchayat level surveys, Renovation and Modernization of Rural library etc. The university encourage and motive us a lot to participate in all the activities.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel infrastructure and facility was very good in our university. There were separate hostels for both boys and girls. The rooms of the hostel was very spacious and well furnished. There was 24 hours security, hot water facility, Free Wi-Fi, power backup facility, dining hall, common room etc were provided by the hostel. I enjoyed a lot in my hostel life. My hostel life will be an unforgettable moment in my whole life.

Admission :

The admission process in our university depends upon the results in the last qualifying examination. Students after qualifying their post graduation with minimum 55 percent of marks are eligible to get admission. Besides these, students should obtain at least 55 percent of marks in their entrance examination. Selection was based on both the entrance examination and the results in post graduation. After fulfilling all the above requirement, i was called for interview and finally i got admission in this course.

Faculty :

The faculties of our university are the best. They are very supportive. They create a very excellent teaching atmosphere in the classroom. Their teaching skills were very impressive and admirable for all the students.

Placement Experience:

•College has an active placement cell that does everything in their ability to provide maximum number of placement for students. It doesn't guarantee placement, but try to increase the odds of it. •Placement training is given to students regularly •A good number of students do get placements each year.

Placement Experience:

The placements are more than decent as you get many opportunities to land a job before graduation. Provided you don't have backpapers which most companies wouldn't want in their candidates. Service-based companies such as TCS and Accenture take loads of students per year and pretty high-end companies visit too.

Placements are calling gives to final years but given that starting 2024 Calicut University introduce 4 year degree plan so we can't say anything about placement yet because they also put forward a proposal that students can drop of from the degree after 3 years or they can complete the 4 years program even though if 3 years or 4 years they can complete

Remarks:

I am completely satisfied with my college management.

Admission:

I got admission to this college by Kerala University based on my marks. The main reason I chose this college and course is because, this college has an A grade given by the NAAC. And it is the only college in Kerala which has an English Honours Course. In addition the honours syllabus was so interesting. We learnt American, European, Canadian, British, African and Indian Literature. The syllabus also included Dalit Literature, theatre Studies and Cinema.
