Keerthana's Review On Goa Medical College And Hospital, Tiswadi

K
4.4 /5

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course structure is pretty hectic with only the second year being somewhat chill to us. We study different specialization through five years with the last year focusing on BCG, Surgery, and medicine.

Placement Experience :

Since there was a compulsory internship after the completion of the course, we were posted in the hospital which gave us the good experience and exposure with a lot of night shifts as well. We were given a stipend of 12,000 as interns.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee was affordable to me and there were loan opportunities available for the college itself but many students paid the fee without taking loans. It was about 10,000 excluding the examination fee which was charged extra.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure of the college was decent with large and spacious labs. The classrooms were pretty spacious too to accommodate all the students. There were many inter department activities arranged by the students and the annual fest was organized by the management.

Admission :

The admission process is hassle free with the criteria being the scores obtained in the entrance exam. The merit list was prepared by the college and the students were called for the offline counseling accordingly.

Faculty :

The faculty were mostly practicing in the hospitals and were also teaching us in their area of specialization. They were pretty strict when it came to our studies and the labs but were helpful otherwise.

Placement Experience:

In the first year, students are eligible for summer internship placements from the first term onwards. Decent number of companies visit the campus and offer roles across various domains. The placement committee provides good placement support.

Admission:

To get admission, I had to first fill out the application form which is present on the college website, then I had to submit the marks scored in grade 12 and then the students were ranked according to marks scored and the students who were selected had to give an interview.

Placement Experience:

Our college provides various placements opportunities but they are quite limited and the college is going to increase the companies offering placements in the coming years, a really good stipend is provided by the companies.

Admission:

For admission into Goa Medical College, I had to give NEET entrance exam. I even had a counselling session before my admission. Based on my score and merit list I secured admission in GMCH. The college also provides relaxation to the SC/ST candidates.

Placement Experience:

There are not much placement opportunities for MBBS students. Nonetheless, we have to do a compulsory internship of eight to ten months after completing our final semester. The stipend offered during the internship is roughly ?16000 per month.

Admission:

My keen interest in the field of Science made me find an apt college for doing my MBBS course and Goa Medical College was my choice. Known for the fusion of European and Indian culture/beauty, Goa is a favourite destination for many and it was my dream to study in this beautiful land. I've applied to the course of MBBS with my NEET UG Medical Scorecard. The selection process also involved NEET UG counselling session.

Placement Experience:

The college provides internship for all the students after the final year of MBBS. The Stipend is for one year and is around Rs.15000 per month. The internship program is very much useful for the students and makes them capable through experience.

Remarks:

College should provide placement and also stipend to the interns. And also they should assign more companies to visit our college so that more students should get job opportunities in companies. But overall our college is very active in sports and academics.

Remarks:

We also have a 0% attendance rule (you don't have to go to classes if you don't want to) which introduces flexibility in your college life. In short, a great campus at a great place with a great college life, providing a great learning experience and assured internships and jobs. What more do you need?
